  • Since Thanksgiving is here, I thought I'd start up another challenge. There are about 5 weeks left in 2006, and of course these are some of the hardest 5 weeks diet-wise. This thread is a place where you can set some goals for yourself for the rest of the year.
  • My goals are:

    - keep up the exercise even when visiting family (look into buying a visitors pass to the gym while in Oregon for 3 weeks)

    - remember that holidays are just that: holiDAYS, not holiWEEKS and eat accordingly

    - drink in moderation, offer to be the dd most of the time

    - no eggnog!

    - lose 3 pounds by Jan. 1, 2007
  • I would like to lose 5 lbs. before the end of the year. I also am going to continue to do what I have been doing.. exericse 6 days/week and keep counting my points. :-)
  • I would like to...

    - keep up with the gym (at least going twice a week)

    - not over-do the alcohol

    - not spend my holidays lazing around doing nothing and actually get some school work done!

    - lose 10lbs by Jan 1st
  • i want to lose 8lbs by 12/31.
  • I'm going for a 2 lb. weight loss by new years, I know not much, but i need to make this one attainable by me! I know too much more is too much pressure right now.
  • what I really want to do is be at 180.. in a little over a month, that's really pushing it. So I'm going to say between 185 and 180... I am reaching my catch-up goal. Yay!
  • I would like to be in ONEderland by New Year's. That's 9 pounds from today! It might be a little much this time of year, but I would really like too!! So that's my goal!

Hee!! I need to remember that one too!

I'd love to be in Onederland by New Years, but that's just a little bit ambitious. I still have 13 lbs to go, and considering the time period, that's probably too much.

    So I'll say:
    - 8 lbs by New Years
    - Exercise at least 6 days a week; movement all seven
    - Go easy on the alcohol
    - Limited Christmas candy and sweets
    - Plan healthy meals and desserts for holiDAYs
  • I'd like to join. You can check out my blog and scroll down the page a little to go to my "Rounding out 2006 Challenge" and read my goals there. I want to be down to 141 by New Year's....that's 8 pounds. A little ambitious i know, but I'm gonna shoot for the moon! Let's help each other get through this holiday season!
  • My goal for the next five weeks is AWARENESS. I want to be aware of everything that goes into my mouth. And to be realistic enough to realize that I continue to eat like I have been, all of the exercise in the world isn't going to result in much progress. Sad, sad, sad...

That said, I would like to get in about 2000 minutes of exercise and keep around 1800 calories a day. Oh, and I am going to be pop-free for the rest of the year. I had a pepsi on T-giving, and that will be the last of it... which makes me sad, but it's also sad that I have such a pathetic addiction to high-fructose corn syrup and artificial mystery pepsi flavoring.
  • mmmmmmm......... artificial mystery pepsi flavoring. you make it sound so appealing! *eyes empty diet pepsi can next to me*

Okay, new year's: I'll be five pounds less and I'll find a way to exercise while on vacation. Non-diet: I won't fight with my mother (fingers crossed!) and I will do some reading in preparation for my thesis proposal due in the spring.

    I think that's all I can handle.

Now, I'm not sure what weight -5lbs will put me at. I haven't weighed myself in a while. I'll make it official tomorrow!
  • I wanna make it to the 160s by the end of this year and maybe even into the 150s...

-keep chuging down 3 litres a day
-keep up my new way of living
    -kick my scale addiction
-buy a tape measure and learn how to use it
  • I want to loose eight pounds by new years, thats exculding this week from thanksgiving lol.
  • I'd like to

take my lunch to school/office while we're in session (~ 2 more weeks)
cook healthy meals for lunch after that
work out at least 2 times/week, ideally 4 times
pay special attention to strength training w/ my arms
    limit my grocery spending
