Hey there!

  • Hello all!

    I have been looking over this board and it is awesome! But to be honest, I can not see where I fit in, which thread? I'm not following a DIET......I have just been trying to change the way I eat and increase my exercise. I can't stick to diets LOL Man, I wish I could though, but I can't!

    Some of the things I have been doing is increasing my water, not eating after 8pm. I have been eating organic soup, and watching my fat intake. (like no mayo, instead I use honey mustard) Ummmm I eat only Whole wheat bread (which I have been doing this for a LONG time anyway LOL) on my turkey sandwiches w/veggies. For breakfast I have oatmeal or Ritz crackers with an apple or yogurt. I have been trying to cut back on my milk intake. (this goes along with watching the fat) When I get a sweet tooth I eat Teddy Graham crackers. Some of these things I have been doing for awhile anyway b/c I have migraines and I had to do them, I had to change my diet. But some of them I just started doing Monday 11-13-06....

    I also have a pedometer that I clipped on Monday, I have been trying to increase my steps.

    When I go out to eat.... Im am going to start ordering just chicken.......Which I did start doing Monday... I was proud of me LOL I ordered chicken and green beans! ))))

    Since Monday I have lost 3lbs LOL )) Water weight I know, but still... Makes me happy! LOL )) But anyway.... Im still not sure where to post here......Where do I go to get support? (( Where do I belong!

  • HI J, I'm new here as well and just wanted to let you know that from what I've seen here on this board, it is a good thing. You just have to find a support group that you feel comfy with. I'm here if you need a shoulder to cry on, lol. So keep up the good work, and the weight will melt off.

    Welcome! I'm sure you'll fit right in here...the key I find is to come regularly and interact. I don't actually 'belong' to a thread either...I'm not on any diet and am not following any specific exercise routine so what I do is just read all the new posts and reply to any that I fancy.

    It works for me :-) Again, welcome and I wish you the best of success.

  • I agree with Finn. Although we may be doing it differently, we all have the same goals. To improve our health. You may be able to find a thread that is specifically for people that aren't on a "diet" but any thread will get you the support and encouragement you need. Try out a few and stick with what you enjoy the most. I find that I bounce around between intros, support and calorie counters.

  • Hello and welcome to all of the newbies here! I am not following a diet either... just eating healthy and exercising my butt off hopefully. Feel free to look around in the various threads... there are exercise challenges, weight loss challenges, general chat, all kinds of things. It can be a bit overwhelming at first but we all understand that and everyone will be happy to help you find your way around.
  • You are following a diet...the best kind of diet. You're changing the way you eat to a more healthy way and starting to exercise. You will lose the weight this way and get healthier doing it! Some of the so called "diets" are just so unhealthy! Post where ever you feel comfortable. Look around there are lots of different kinds of groups. Find a 1-2 buddy to talk to. It really does help.
