Look Folks I haven't been here for to long but I know how important this web site is to so many of us and yet this site is in dire financial straights. Now most of us will know just how that is.
This site has over 14,800 members. I just don't see a problem because no matter how tough we a financial bind we have most of us can easily fork in $1.00 per month , every single month. In that way the site is secure and who knows what wonderful things could be added! Please, this is more than a weight loss support. Here we have friends to cherish, here we can share our problems no matter what they are and the members really care. For me I don't know what I would do without the people here to back me up and understand. A pledge of $1.00 measly dollar a month .........surely we can do this to keep our site and even make it better. Lets band together and do this simple little thing .

I will start.....$1.00 a month every month, That's all it would take and God know we waste more than that in a week so lets here it and more over lets do it. You 'll never get a cheaper deal in your life and accomplish so much.

Like many of you, Snail Mail is a pain in the you know where.

Click the link at the top of this page that says "Please Help Support 3FC" and you can contribute via Amazon.com. The money gets there faster and it's really a no-brainer, especially if you already have an Amazon account.

Perhaps Suzanne could also open a Paypal account to give us some more options? Quite a few charities and non-profit websites use Paypal for this purpose.

I think a dollar each is a great idea. I have recently started working on my own site and am begginning to understand how much goes into maintaining one. It would be great if it were moved to a free host but the sheer size of this site would probably prevent that. I'm not sure but I think those free hosts limmit you to not much space at all.
This site has been so much help to me and I will gladly send my dollar. I hope every one else will too. I you don't see the value in the service provided you have not been here long enough!

Even the 'free' sites, such as Geocities or MSN, aren't always free. It depends on how many 'hits' you get and how much server space your site takes up.

In fact, my site on www.geocities.com is going to start costing my money ($9 a month) because of the sheer number of hits to it. If I don't pay the $$, Geocities shuts it down during the day if the hits exceed my 'free' limit. Obviously that won't work here.

It would be great if 3FC can come to a 'commission' deal like www.leanandstrong.com has with Netrition - anytime someone buys products through clicking on the Netrition icon at L&S, the site gets a commission! Just a matter of finding an e-retailer who will come to an agreement with this site...

I totally agree that we should all send $$$. I too, wish that we could use paypal and that would make it easier. I have sent a check before but think Christian's idea is a good one. Think I will write out several envelopes and stick on stamps and each month put in $1.00 or $2.00 and just send it off. That's half the battle, getting the envelope etc ready.
