A lot of weight to lose and need support

  • Hey there, I'm new here. I found this site in the First mag today and thought I would give it a try. I am a 30 year old single mom of a very cute 5 year old. In the past year I have been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease, hypothyroidism and being a diabetic. What a year!!! I am struggling with losing weight and have no real support system. I have lost 26 pounds so far. I am doing the Simply For Life plan that someone gave me. Lately I have been in a rut and I have gotten to the point that I can't do this alone anymore. I need a support system. I am hoping that this is where I can get it!!:
  • Hi there I'm so glad you found us!
We have a lot of members with PCOS, hypothyroidism, and diabetes (wow- you have had quite a year ), or some combination of these conditions. If you look in the support forum, check the "Dieting with Obstacles" section for threads with others who have PCOS, diabetes or thyroid conditions.

Of course, you don't need to stick to just one area of the site- although you do have a lot of particular health issues, losing weight is losing weight. It's tough for everyone. So wander through the site and find a place where you are comfortable, introduce yourself and jump in!

  • Welcome!

You've taken the first step toward getting yourself out of your rut by coming here and asking for support.

I second the idea of checking out the "Dieting with Obstacles" section, as you might find some great information there. Otherwise, look around and settle in.

I look forward to getting to know you better!
  • Welcome! Way to go on your loss so far!! Keep it going! You can do it!!
