I Changed My Goal Weight

  • Ok has this happened to anyone else? i have changed my lifestyle now for a few month's now after looking at the big picture im 5'8 1/2 and i had set a goal weight of 140 but remembering back i looked very unhealthy at that weight i dont want to be skinny so say but my gaol has always been THICK BUT TONED i dont know if it's just me but i dont find really skinny attractive and i know my husband doesnt either thats why he married me 6 years ago when we got married i was 165 and looked great sooooo is it just me ? does anyone else have feed back for what a (always thick) woman should be at my height ?
    thanks for any help
  • Hi, I think if you felt "great" at 165 then that should be your goal. I am 5'7 and my intention was to look and be healthy, not SKINNY. I set my goal at 145. I had a little trouble for a while with the mind game. I thought , "heck, if 145 is good, I'd look even better at 135". I gave up this idea and happy to be maintaining at 140-145. My clothes fit, my BMI is healthy and I feel good at this weight. Go with what is a comfortable weight for you.
  • I agree. Each body is different and while aiming for a good bmi is probably a good goal - there are things that the bmi can't take into consideration. For me I'm 5'2" and bmi thinks it's okay for me to be under 100 lbs. and lets be realistic that just is never going to happen.
I aim for - shopping in a regular store, feeling healthy, feeling good about how I look... somehow I hope to actually be there.
  • Thanks ladies i wasnt sure if i was just letting myself down by changing it
    Thanks
  • My stats are almost the same as yours 707! Me at 165 looks really good! I have to say between 155 and 165 I look pretty much the same. Anything lower then 155 I to would worry about not having my great curves.
  • Hey 707 just do what you are comfy with! The guideline I follow is every 5 feet = 100 pounds and every inch after is 5-10 pounds depending on bone structure. So for you that could be 140-180. If 165 feels right for you then go for it! I am sure you can tone up at the gym and then it wouldn't matter what the scale syas.
