  • Welcome, Barb!

    (I like to scrapbook too!)
  • Hello!
  • Welcome So how are you doing so far? Are you also exercising? Tell me more (if you want...lol)...

I am also new here. I started my new lifestyle in July. I actually started with exercise. I had my son at the Y learning how to swim and while we were there I would work out. I started losing weight which motivated me to watch what I eat and then I got serious and started counting calories. I have lost 33 lbs and I am so excited. Hope that you meet your goals!!!
  • Luv_Losing, I started exercising first too before deciding to count calories. I did the couch to 5k running program, where you work your way up to running 3.1 miles over a 9 week period. I didn't lose any weight from the running, so on week 8, I decided to start counting calories to see if I could lose weight. Even though I manged to finish the running program, my knees and ankles would sometimes give me problems because of the extra weight I was carrying around. I'm still on the treadmill, but not running as often as the program calls for. I really liked the running and hope to get back to it full force after I loose a little more weight. I've been counting calories for 60 days now. So, there are a few of us that are relatively new to this.
  • I've been calorie counting over a year with great success! My goals for what to eat have evolved over time and I now focus on healthy food too. I also hate to starve myself and try to maximize my calories while still losing. I believe this helps me not feel deprived and fall off the wagon.

I joined a gym approx 3 weeks ago and at first just went once a week, but iIwent to see the nutritionist last week and I'd lost 5 lbs after 2 weeks so that motivated me to hit the gym everyday this week! I'm drinking 100 ounces of water a day and I'm trying to stick to a 1500-1600 calorie a day count. I'm going I get weighed tomorrow (at the gym) and see if any of the numbers(weight, bmi %of fat, etc)has moved.

  • Welcome!!!
  • Well my numbers indeed moved I lost three lbs when I got weighed on Sunday. I'm thrilled!
It's been a struggle going to the gym this week I'm just sooo tired
I've been dragging myself to do it, but it's exhausting. I'm getting my period next week and I think that's why.
  • love2scrap - it gets easier!! Keep up the good work. Soon exercising will become a habit, you will feel funny when you miss a planned workout day.

    on the 3 pounds!!
