  • Hi everyone!

I am posting under "Featherweight" even though I still have 29 lbs. to lose to reach goal - that's because 120 is my "stretch" goal; I'd honestly be happy at 135 (okay, 132!), but when I think of myself that close it is too easy to let things slide.

I've been going it without a support / accountability system for the first 8 lbs., but I need more - so here I am.

I am - trying hard to work out every day, logging what I eat in Fitday, drinking at least 8 oz water per pound of body weight per day, weighing in every morning, taking my multivitamin, trying to get enough veggies, calcium, and fiber, and - sometimes most difficult - trying NOT to kick myself every time a day goes by and I am not 100% perfect at one of those things! In the past, I have tended to get derailed by an imperfection or two and just sack the whole thing.

So - what do I need to do to be a Featherweight???

    Susan
  • Su-Bee you're a perfect Featherweight!!

Join us in our weekly Challenge thread or our monthly discussion thread... or anywhere on the site for that matter
  • Another Susan! and from our area! Welcome! You already are a featherweight ... just post and we'll get ta know ya.
  • Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm looking forward to participating in the discussions.

I also want to thank both of you for making your fitdays public. I took a glance through; it was really helpful for me to see the range of "normal" for people who are roughly my size and trying to lose weight. SusanB, you started almost where I did - so if I can ask, how long did it take you to go from 162 to the 130 you're at now?
  • Oi Susan ... do I have to say? I initially lost 30 lbs in two months. I then paid the price ... I went back to 'normal' and gained back quite a bit. I've yo-yo-d so many times I don't remember any more.

I think I've been more or less this weight (give or take 5 lbs) for about a year. So the real answer is two or two and a half years. But honey ... learn from our mistakes. Don't be in a hurry and learn the fit lifestyle rather than the fast weight loss. We'll help you
  • Wow!

Thanks for your honesty. I have put on a lot of weight since my wedding; I'm trying to get back to pre-wedding weight. A lot of changes came with marriage for me - a new town, a job search & a new job, meeting all new people, etc. - and I'm afraid I got a bit depressed, and I respond to depression with food. . .you get the picture!

So I am hoping I can do it. . .I don't eat a lot of junk food - at least not a lot of food that is complete & total junk, I can go quite overboard on things like cheese, though - but I do like to eat a LOT. So I am thinking of reading up on the Volumetrics stuff I've been seeing on here.

    Anyway! See you around!
