Hi, everyone! I'm new here...

  • How is everyone doing?

I'm a 38 y.o SAHM with a young child. I have a lot of weight I would like to lose and I have lurked here for a couple of days and wanted to join in. It seems like a positive, supportive place.

I am going to try to lose 5 pounds at a time. I joined a ladies only gym and I have a treadmill, so I feel like I have the exercise planned out. I think I would stay on track if I had a place to post and be held accountable. I enjoy working out but I struggle with eating right. I hope to pick up some pointers here.

Thanks for reading my post. I hope I get to know you all better.
  • Hi Skibbles! Welcome to the neighborhood. I sent you a PM with some navigational tips. There are also several threads "stickied" tot he top of the page that will have great info and links in them. Please feel free to join in the numbered threads so everyone will get a chance to meet you.
  • WELCOME SKIBBLES! Like Thin said, we'd love to have you join us on the 300+ threads. The exercise thread is a great way to just commit to what YOU feel you'd like to do, and then post when you make some progress towards that goal. It's not a competition, and you can just jump in any old place! This site has been a life saver for me, and I hope you enjoy it too!
  • welcome!

I have to tell you I was a new on here a good week ago or so and got used to it by now..this site definitly helps, keeps you motivated and gives you a possibility to keep tracks of your progress, either weight or exercise which is really helpfull, post in threads and you gonna get a lot of e-hugs if you're feeling down, a good kick in the *** if you eat too much and so on. Yes ladies here are ruthless lol just kidding, they are great. Jump right in and dont get scared by how fast everything is going
  • this is the best site on the web for support welcome!
  • HI!! Glad to have you with us! You feel free to join in anytime!! Yeah!
  • Hi Skibbles! So glad you are here! I hope you will join us over in the numbered threads and also the exercise one. You are right that it helps a LOT to have a place to post and others to encourage us and understand. I look forward to getting to know you.

  • Thanks for the warm welcomes! I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.
  • Hi there Skibbles ..

Welcome on in (all the way from New Zealand here lol). I found this site not long after I started my new journey to a healthy life and boy am I glad I did I had considered joining something like WW so that I could get together with ppl once a week for support and ideas .. but I found in the first month on my journey that once a week for support just doesnt really cut it cos you cant guarantee when you will be having one of those "eeeeek" moments, coming on here has definitely kept me on track .. and its not so much what comments I have been getting (but they dont half give you a lovely boost ) .. but its reading everyone elses storys and helping where you can (even if its just support - just? more than just I think lol) that keeps me on track

This is definitely a little corner of the web where you can pretty much guarantee that there are others who have gone through similar experiences and issues with weight hurdles and weight loss hurdles, so please dont be too shy, jump on in when you can .. keep up when you can (cos sometimes these posts just FLY!) ... set your goals and really try for them but no beating up allowed ... for every Ooops there is a lesson .. learn it .. grow from it .. and then wake up the next day to a new day (And if you do have a naughty moment .. for goodness sake ENJOY it ... beating yourself up over it and regretting it really does make it a waste of time).

Looking at your progress so far it looks like you are definitely on a great journey, keep up the fantastic work .. and I know someone on here said it (sorry I cant remember who tho .. but the phrase has really stuck with me)
    "I cant lose 100 pounds ... but I can lose 10 pounds 10 times".

Good luck and look forward to seeing you on the boards Huggies.
