Hi
I thought I'd introduce myself and my weight loss saga. My name is Ann, I;m 27 years old and live in England. I have been trying to loose weight for a while and on Monday I went to the hospital and was told that loosing weight would help my medical condition (I have a BMI of 34). The consultant thinks that my problem is no so much what I eat but the fact I can't burn the calories as easily (I have mild cerebral palsy) so he has referred me to physiotherapy to get some exercises that will help and that I can do.
I have been thinking back to where my problem started and I think it started when I had a large asthma attack 2 years ago, prior to that I had been doing quite a bit of walking as I didn't have access to a car. Just prior to my attack I had met my boyfriend and I got used to him taking me everywhere as my stamina was bad because of the attack. Therefore my stamina never recovered and I put on weight, the more weight I put on the more my stamina reduced and the less exercise I did and so the vicious cycle began.
I am trying to be pro-active about this but it still didn't stop me from wanting to eat a whole bar of chocolate when I got back from the hospital (I didn't eat it though).
Anyway that's my story thanks for reading.
Ann
