Just posting the general chat thread for October. I was away for the weekend - to a women's conference near Binghamton, NY. Had a great time, but resisting the yummy food was difficult. I may post a gain tonite. Did get out and walked 40 minutes at lunch.

Oh yes, my DH has decided to take up motorcycling. He got his license this Friday so I took my first ride. Scarey!!

Hi everyone we had our fall Rally this last week end I had to leave early because of lack of sleep but it was fun what I did see. hopw every one is doing well.

Lyn, a motorcycle! Fun, but yah, a little scary. That would be a motivation for me to want to lose weight ... cyclists are kind of on display.

GG, I hope you're taking care of yourself in addition to taking care of everyone else. I heard somewhere that sleep is particularly important in the fall.

I don't know if my area has a fall rally. I haven't heard anything, but I also have missed about half of the meetings since August.

With my DS moving in with his dad and a few other adjustments in my life, I've gained 10 pounds. Not good, but I kind of expected grief would put a temporary kink in my plans. I haven't figured out how to grieve and maintain healthy eating habits.

GG, hope you were able to catch up on some of sleep. Sorry to hear that you had to skip out early on your Fall Rally. My area had their's over the weekend. I didn't get to go because I thought I was going home for my dad's birthday. But a lack of funds stopped me. So this weekend I am planning to visit my family. Hope you are finding time to rest and relax.
Phantastica, things start turning around for you. I know that it must be lonely at your house now. I take it you are doing a lot of emotional eating. Hope you can get out that mode and start losing again. You were on a roll there this summer.
As for me, I stayed the same tonight at TOPS. I was a little disappointed since I have watched what I have eaten and worked out everyday. But I guess that is better than a gain.

Kerry sometimes when you work out your body holds onto water and suchto build those musles maybe thats whats going on. You'll be loseing before you know it.

Phantastica things will get better have you gone back to TOPS yet maybe there is support there for you. I know my TOPS ladies have been my best support.

Lyn maybe you should learn to ride and let the DH sit on the back lol.

Well I decided tonight that I was going 100% Vegan starting tomorrow. I am looking forward to this. My body just doesn't like dairy and it hold onto all the fat that I eat from dairy. wish me luck I'm shooting for a week 100% vegan.

gggbdomino- Good luck It is a very healthy way of life and you shoould feel wonderful after the first few days.

phantastica- Hang in there sis, I will say a prayer for you, you just take care of you, and the rest will fall into place

Kar73- Way to go on maintaining, it ids just as hard to maintain as it ever was to lose the weight, good job

As for me....my problem this week is gonna be water weight, so I will be glad to just stay the same...but it doesnt look like that will happen at the moment, we shall see.....Have a wonderful day chickies!!!!

I didn't weigh in on Monday night. I had some unexpected out-of-town company. While I could have weighed in and left, it was all too easy to skip weigh-in knowing it wasn't going to be a favorable one anyway.

Well after two weeks of my last weigh-in, I went tonight and weighed in. I gained 3/4 of a pound. I guess that isn't too bad. But I was hoping for a loss. But I guess it could have been worse since it was my TOM last week.
Hope everyone is having a great week. I hope to take off my 3/4 pound and more next week.
Well I am tired after a long day of working till 5, running home to pick up my Avon orders to take to the ladies at TOPS, going to TOPS to weigh-in, and then running to my stepdaughter's volleyball game all within an hour and 15 minutes time span from the time I got off work till her game, I think I am going to bed early tonight.

I weighed in again and gained, but I fully expected that. I'm hoping it was the wakeup call I've been needing the past few weeks. I gained 20 of the 70 pounds back! Jeez!

My TOPS group has been kind of drifty lately, so our leader decided to have us re-commit, and we're all putting efforts into being there on time and sticking to a full meeting each time. I'm trying to think of ways to draw in a little fun. Maybe one day soon I'll make pumpkin muffins (canned pumpkin + spice cake mix) for everyone. Our group is only 5 people, so it's easy to bring stuff in ... even though nobody really does that.

Hi all,

Jury duty ended yesterday after a grueling 2 days of deliberation. We were almost a hung jury - (I was one of the holdouts) - until it became apparent that at 10-2 there was no way the 2 of us would be able to sway the others. So, he was found guilty of making a false statement on an application for citizenship and will probably be deported back to Egypt. I was convinced he did not make it "Knowingly and deliberatley", but the others felt strongly the opposite. At least it wasn't a life or death case.

But the 2 weeks driving 1.5 hours to Buffalo (each way), getting caught in that big snow storm and the whole process really exhuasted me and I went off my diet and exercise plan and ate lunches out etc. So, back to normal now. I walked tonite after work. (felt good). I have missed 2 weeks of weigh-ins, but know I've gained.

Our Fall Rally is this weekend. Our TOPS group is performing 2 songs...one to the tune of "Green Acres" and the other to "NY NY". We changed the words to reflect the joys of weight loss. It shuld be fun.

Phantastica, I challenge that we both work hard to have a loss next weigh-in. I know that we can do it. We just have to set our minds to it. I think that is all that is wrong with me at times. I get stressed and reach for food to comfort me at times. I am working really hard to watch what I eat and workout this week. I have to say that here lately I haven't really been able to stay for my meetings. I go weigh in and then have to leave for one of the kids' activities or something for school. So I hope that I can start attending again and find the motivation that I need.

We had a great fall rally yesterday. Our TOPs club (NY 1071 LeRoy) won for best skit and best look-alike costumes. See photo attached.

The speaker was the International and NYS Quessn who lost 227#. Talk about inspiring!! I'm motivated!
