Celebrating!

  • Yeah! Just got back from the doctor's office.
It wasn't a figment of my imagination.
I did actually lose 10 lbs since my last visit on the 15th.

But I thought I had weighed 225, actually it was 228.
And I now weigh 218. Sooooo my dears, my home scale is off by 3 lbs.

No matter. I will add the 3 pounds at each weigh-in so it should be acurate to the doctor's scale.

I asked him what my A1c test had been and it was a 7% on 8/31.
They will retest in December. But he is pretty confindent that it will be under 6.5% with the changes I am making in diet and exercise.

I gave him a copy of my food/carb/calorie/excercise journal. He also told me I was doing awesome with my diet and exercise and bringing my BG levels under control. I will NOT, read it again NOT have to take insulin if I continue with my current diet and exercise. This is a huge incentive for me to keep going.

He will also make a determination whether I need to be on a cholesterol med or not. So far I am just a smidge over the line. I hope to bring it down with a good diet.

He did switch my blood pressure med to an ACE inhibitor.

Anyway that was my great report for the day.
  • omg thats such wonderful news for you!! well done!!
  • Thanks Spanks.

I am keeping in perspective though. I know eventually all diabetics go on insulin. I am just very happy to not have to do so yet. I plan to delay that as long as I possibly can.
