Introduction and questions

  • Hello,
I am new to the board and decided I better introduce myself.
Hi, My name is Kayla and I am 24 years old.
I was diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance in January and began to take the medicine I was perscribed, welchol and glucophage. I began feeling sick and stopped taking it. I haven't lost any weight and now I am beginning to get frustrated. I don't eat much, a cucumber is what I call dinner most of the time and it seems irritating when my friends tell me I need to eat more vegetables.
I am about to start up the medicine again, and I was wondering if anyone had an meal ideas that I can start to use? I have been looking online and it seems I have to buy a book for everything now.

well just here to say hello. so hello!!
  • Hi Kayla, and welcome to 3FCs! You didn't mention what you weigh, but at any rate, I'm thinking a cucumber for dinner isn't enough!!!

There is a whole section here at 3 Fat Chicks about PCOS and Insulin Resistance. Pretty much any program you go on for weightloss will have a book, but maybe you can at least get some ideas from over there. Here's a direct link to the area: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=70
  • Opps. sometimes i get really spazzy and forget. I weigh about 187 and I am only 5'3
