interesting experiment - soy pasta

  • Stopped by Whole Foods tonight and picked up Nutrition Kitchen whole soybean pasta made from black soybeans.

    Positives
    • Cooked fast (5 minutes)
    • Big serving (compared to regular pasta), 200 calories of this stuff was much bigger than 200 calories of regular pasta
    • High protein - 22 grams per serving
    • High fiber - 11 grams per serving
    • High iron - 70% of RDA

    Negatives
    • Kinda weird tasting
    • Rubbery
    • Visually distracting (gray)

    All in all - a very interesting experiment! It definitely won't top my list of pasta substitutes, but not too bad.
  • Hmm, I think I'll stick with ww. Though maybe gray pasta would keep me from wanting more.
