  • We all get upset at our husbands sometimes, and it is so easy to always speak of the negative things they say or do, but I want to tell you all about how sweet mine is.
He never says anything about my weight - except that he doesn't want me to get too thin.
He refuses to agree with me when I look at a model in a mag and say how pretty her tiny thighs are.
He never agrees with me when I try to get him to admit I am a little to heavy.
He is almost always the first one to say "I'm sorry".
He is almost always the first one to say "I love you".
He picks up after himself better then I do most of the time.
He never calls me names, even though I call him names sometimes.
When I call myself fat or ugly he tells me to stop it - he thinks I am beautiful and he loves me.
He will talk to me after I read some article in a mag that makes me think I am not good enough for him, and reassure me that I am all he wants and needs.
He will take stupid compatability quizzes with me, and laugh at the results when they say we won't last. Married for 11 years and still going strong.
When I am sick he makes me soup.
When I am cold he cuddles me.
When I am scared he is right there to make sure I am ok.
He keeps me safe when I panic.
He lets me hold the remote control.
We have been through **** and back and I love him so much it hurts sometimes. I am not saying he is perfect, he messes up sometimes as do I, but as a whole, he is a better person than I am, rarely judgemental of other people, always willing to help others even though the favor is rarely returned from most of them and is always ready to listen to peoples problems. Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve such a good man. I don't know, but I am so glad I have him.
  • Is he my husband's long lost twin? I feel exactly the same about my hubby! Well, except for the picking up after himself bit
You sound so happy and grateful! Have you told him all this?
  • Definitely sounds like a KEEPER!!! Thanks for your long list of things that your (my) husband does.
  • He sounds like a sweetheart! My Fiance says the same stuff. I lost some weight and I asked him if I looked better. He said, "No you look thinner.
    you've always looked good!"

Do any of these wonderful hubbies have a brother??? Some of us single chicks could use that kind of lovin' in our lives!

Seriously, it's good to hear the supportive ones are out there -- and I'm happy for all of you that have them!
  • Awww good post. I agree, sometimes I take my fiancee for granted, and that's so sad because he truly is such a caring, special man, and I'm so happy I have him.
  • Thanks for the post and the reminder that my husband has a lot of these same traits. Sometimes it is so easy to see the faults and not the good. Thank you. My husband definitely has the patience of a saint and this is something that is most definitely lacking in me. He is extremely kind. Great with children and animals. The calmest, most easy-going person I have ever met. Unlike me, I tend to get upset easy and hold a grudge.
  • Fl Chickie - yes my hubby has a brother but I got the best one I am happy to say. I try to tell my hubby how much I love him and get so choked up I can't fully articulate just how I feel.
  • Made me cry. LOL. Gosh, you're so lucky to have him. I wish I was married. I've never even had a single boyfriend. I've been wanting one for so long. ::sigh::
  • Great post!!! Often it is easy to complain about things and we all need to remember the good things too.

Nice to hear all those positive comments about your DH and your relationship - you are a lucky couple!
  • that is so sweet....

brought tears to my eyes (really!)

  • That's sweet and reminds me a lot of my own husband. When I hear some of the things other women say about their signifigant others, it makes me appreciate him all the more. I REALLY lucked out here.

By the way, you forgot to mention getting mad at the DH when you have a dream about him cheating on you.

Couldn't have said that better. Sometimes I forget what an amazing boyfriend I have and how lucky I am too have him (even if he DOESN'T pick up after himself, haha).
  • Great post and thanks! My husband can be a pain at times to but, you reminded me today he does most of the stuff you said also, it inspired me to make him a speacil dinner and cuddle up with him and watch a movie. Thanks again.
  • It's good to hear from a woman who is happy with the choice that she is made. good deal.
