Being in a suburb of NY I don't know what you are talking about. I've eaten all over Ny and have never heard of NY french fries. I have heard of NY cheesecake. Maybe I'm missing something? There are all different kinds of fries fust like the ones in fast food places or your frozen food section of your grocery store. There are shoestring the thin ones served at most fast food restaurants like McDonalds. regular crinkle cut and steak fries with the skins on. Like the person named "leader" said french fries are french fries and you should look at your food companions to see how many points they are.

New York Fries is an extremely large company in CANADA. Thats why you have not heard of them.
