Don't want to announce to the world

  • That I've started Weight Watchers (again). It just feels like everyone is watching and waiting for me to fall off. I know if I pre-measure and bring it all in to work pre-measured people won't be realizing it until I look thinner

But I do like to have some things here at work that are healthy alternatives and will keep the "hungries" away. Two that I like to have are lf cottage cheese and yogurt. I buy them in the big containers to help my budget and they can stay here at work for a few weeks. What do I do about measuring them?

Counting out 15 small Fat Free Wheat Thins is not an issue nor is eating a small apple but I'm a little perplexed on how I can overcome the measuring cup items? Any thoughts ? I'm sure someone here has overcome this obstacle?
  • Bring in a cute coffee mug and measure the amount in oz. it holds before you go to work! Then, you can use it for your serving container and no one will be any the wiser. Best of luck...please know that I am waiting for you to succeed, to gallop right along, not to fall off!
  • What a great idea!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
  • rose-
i did so well last time and then failed that everyone is waiting for me to fail again too
  • I've joined and quit more times than I can count. But I've decided this times the time and I've just got to keep going no matter what!
  • ya know what else ya could do to save time at home? measure it and store in baggies then just pour 1 baggie in the cup at hme
  • Aside from my mom and sister, the only other person who knows I am doing WW again (3rd time) is a friend who is doing it also. She was my inspiration to go back to WW, she's lost 45 lbs. since January.

I'm trying to take care of myself physically, mentally and spiritually; so for those reasons, I feel that no one else needs to know what I'm doing. I found that if everyone knows what you're doing they tend to scrutinize your every move and every bite you take. Somehow being on a program makes people feel that they have to police you and sometimes sabotage you.

I eat 6 meals a day, so it appears that I'm constantly eating, so no one has asked anything. Believe me, people do ask!

This time, it's my thing for me. A few weeks before I re-joined WW, I found out that I have a gastrointestinal condition, which is related to stress & nutrition. I feel a lot stronger and more sure about this for more than losing weight, but just being good to me and feeling better.

And 3 weeks in, I am feeling better.

This time feels different all the way around, first, I found a meeting even closer to my home. And then the leader during the first meeting, stressed the importance of measuring yourself and gauging inches lost, in addition to the scale. That struck me as incredible, b/c the reason I stopped going last year, was b/c there were weeks that I had minor gains, which were totally due to my increased workouts. But the weigh-in person's sad face that I gained .8 or 1.2 lbs, became quite discouraging, even though my clothes were much looser. So, I stopped going. Thank God for this new meeting!

I am very thankful that I not only have the support of my meeting members, but also the 3FC community.

    Ya'll are awesome!
  • Oops, I forgot to say this in my "novel" above!

I measure out most everything for 4 meals to bring to work in either baggies, containers or plastic wrap. This is so helpful and a complete no-brainer when it's time to eat.

    Hope that helps!
  • There are also single serving sizes of yougurt and cottage cheese cups available which some people find easier.

I usually make things like lf pudding or jello and put it directly in snack size tupperware containers then put them in the fridge to set. Then I just grab them and toss them in mine and my DH's lunches.
