The ULTIMATE test of willpower!

  • On September 20 I'm going on a 12 day cruise to Hawaii for my honeymoon. This will be my third cruise so I am well aware of the endless food choices available. I don't plan on trying to lose weight, but I don't want to gain weight either. My plan is to use the gym on the ship a lot. I'm not going to deprive myself of treats, I just need to try to strike a good balance. I may be doing a lot of makeup in the gym!

  • Good luck! I've been on many cruises myself and always seem to come away with an extra pound or two. Of course, I never did get my butt into the gym (but my DH and I did walk a couple miles each afternoon before getting ready for cocktail hour).

Eat a lot of fruit and salads for breakfast and lunch. Save the good stuff for those decadent dinners! I found that a lot of the lunch things were leftovers from the previous night's dinner. I'd rather have a fresh salad instead!!!
  • You will do just fine! Enjoy yourself and try to stay as active as possible! That does not only pertain to the bedroom either! Yes, I even mean the bedroom. Enjoy the delicious foods, but also take advantage of the healthy + pricier items like the delicious smoked salmon and all the fresh fish selections. Also, I'm sure there will be lots of yummy veggies like asparagus that they will serve with the prime ribs, etc. Just trim the fat and you're good to go! I doubt you will gain a single pound. Just make sure to enjoy yourself and don't overdue anything (like eating 4 slices of cheesecake just cuz it's there Trust me, it won't be *that* different than if you were at home. Just make sure the choices you make are both yummy and on the healthier side. If you just keep that in mind, you'll be just fine!

    Have a woderful honeymoon!!!
  • i meant to say that don't save all the action for the gym, but rather the bedroom too - LOL
