Foot question?????

  • For the last 18 months I have had a really weird problem with my right foot. I don't even know if I can describe it correctly but I will try.

The middle and 4th toe do something really weird. They feel like they are suddenly sticking straight up or kind of kinked about an inch or two up higher in my foot. I get a terrible pain and tingling on a whole half of the foot. This doesn't happen when I am just sitting around, it happens when...

    1) I walk for a long period of time (in tennis shoes),
    2) I walk for a short period of time in NON-tennis shoes,
    3) I wear any kind of professional shoe and do ANY walking,
    4) I am doing something squating on the ground like weeding in a garden that requires me to stand only on the front part of my foot bending my toes,

I can't even tell you how painful this is. It literaly feels like my toes are bent and caught upward, but when I look at them, they are sitting in the normal spot. Grocery shopping has become a nightmare. By the time I am done, I have to stop in the car, take off my shoe, and rub the foot for a while so I can drive home with it. It will continue to hurt until I am off it for a while.

I was hoping weight-loss would fix this, but it hasn't.

Does anyone have ANY ideas as to what this is?
  • Have you seen an podiatrist or chiropodist? They would be able to diagnose that in an instant...

I have Morton's Neuroma, my toes were getting numb all the time, especially when I ran and wear high heals... With orthotics to correct the problem I can run to my hearts content...

    See your doc....
  • Sound's like a morton's neuroma. Get some arch supports that will decrease pressure on the ball of the foot. Make sure shoes fit well. If still a problem, see a podiatrist.
  • I get that once in a while. Just a spasm, but it is really painful.
  • it's not toe cramps? they hurt like heck and make your toes feel like they are curling.
