this is probably silly, I amnot a cook. LOL With that recipe, are you supposed to cook the oatmeal first before putting it over the apples? Or do they really mean dry oats?

The oats are dry. They become your "crumb" topping otherwise known as a "streussel" stopping.
Let me know how it turns out, I haven't tried it yet.

LOL ok well my husband made it for me and hemade it wrong. He cooked the oatmeal first. It was pretty gross! We'll have to try again!
It's pretty gross anyway, unfortunately. At least it is if you use the brown sugar Sugar Twin. I tried to make it tolerable by serving it with vanilla yogurt, but it didn't help much. Hope you have better success.
Kindra - You can make a quick apple crisp by cutting an apple into chunks and put some cinnamon, a pack of Splenda, and a dash of lemon juice on the apple. Stir it up and crumble a graham cracker on top and microwave for about 1 min 15 secs. 1Fr, 1S, and not too bad!
That sounds better than the yucky one. I'll have to try it!
