A Plateau Buster Diet is simply a plan to get your weightloss going again. The one I posted is from the Atkins Board. I believe on the Atkins Board there is also an all meat and fat plan.
I have no idea if any of these work as I'm not doing Atkins fulltime lately. Perhaps someone who is an Atkid can tell you.
You generally would take out all the "questionable" foods, and foods that cause ANY insulin spike at all.
So meat and fat and water is a plateau buster.Adding healthy fats can move a stall.
You are cutting out Nutrasweet, fruit, cheese, MSG, caffeine, etc, that might cause stalls, then look to add them back one at a time to see if they give you a problem. You look for hidden carbs, or lowish carbs that you're not couning.
Obviously, you're not supposed to stay on this long, and should take a vitamin, including C.
What Dottie described is basically what the Mayo Clinic plan is. No starches, flours, sugars, etc., and only red, yellow, green or orange vegetables. The only dairy permitted is an 8 oz glass of skim milk in the evening if you desire a bedtime "snack".
I'm taking a multi vitamin, B12, and C.
I don't know my results yet as you follow the plan for 12 days and off 2. I'll keep you posted!
