Is there a test to determine what diet program would work for me?

  • I seem to float from program to program and fad to fad. If I could take some sort of assessment test to figure out what program would work best for me, it would be GREAT!

Anyone know of anything like it?
  • i know Curves has one- either calorie or Carb sensitive. try to look on their website to see if it's online. if not I can probably dig out my book and scan it in for you.
  • I know something that might help The Perfect Fit Diet book is all about finding the right diet for you. I love this book. It contains a 48 page questionnaire to help you find the right diet for you. The book doesn't promote a specific diet, it's more of a guide to helping you find your perfect diet.
  • Thanks! I'll give it a go!
  • Whatever you can see yourself sticking to forever. Personally, I can calorie count and eat whole foods forever. Any short term diet (with a plan to end at a point in the future) just sets you up for short term success. Long term success is the real goal!!!
  • Anything that you may think of keeping up with forever! It doesnt have to as strict and as intensive or specific (I've lost a lot of weight on Cabbage soup diet in the past but gained it back just because i cant do it forever!).

I ahve friends who did jenny craig/nutrisystem and they did lose weight but gained it within 6 months of stopping the program.

Now I believe in slow and steady calorie counting and moderate but regular exercise to an extent that I know I can continue for ever...
