Okay, stupid question!

  • Can you heat a towel in the microwave?

I've got a face treatment I'd like to do and it says before putting the stuff on your face, place a hot towel on it to open pores.

Can I stick a towel in the microwave to heat it? And how long should I leave it in there?

Told ya it was a silly question, but I've never done that before
  • Yep, you sure can....dampen it a bit first for some moist heat. It feels really good, as long as it's not too hot!
  • My DH does this all the time (well, with a washcloth) to get a nice moist cloth for his face before he shaves. Just be careful, esp if it's a damp cloth, it can get really hot! Experiment with the time/power.

Thank you! I was afraid I might set it on fire or something, lol.

I'll do that, thank you so much
  • You can also leave a damp towel in the microwave for a few minutes to allow it to steam up,and it makes cleaning it a breeze.
  • We put a cup of water to heat in the microwave and let it steam then clean it up. Well last week my hubby told my 10 year old son to "put a cup of water in the microwave" so he measures a cup of water and POURS it in the microwave. Fried it!!

    lol!

Oh my goodness, sorry about your microwave but you gotta laugh at them sometimes.

HAHA, that is too funny! Kids do that craziest things sometimes!
  • One caveat on the towel: Make sure it doesn't have embroidery with metallic thread.

OOOO! Good call, fiddler!! Hadn't thought about this!
  • Hmmmm.... surely if you can put your underwear in the freezer, you can put a facecloth in the microwave...

(actually, no kiddin'.... on a really really really HOT day, that underwear in the freezer thing feels pretty doggone good!!!!)
