I have not had much time to post at all, as you have probably noticed! Things have been quite hectic... and on top of that, we just got a fairly decent sized Typhoon that decided after it passed our island the first time, it would get stronger, and totally turn around and come RIGHT OVER OUR ISLAND!!!! Weird. We have never had a typhoon just turn around and do a 180! It came fast with little warning, and went through even faster! But it is gone now, and just stormy. There is some major clean-up to be done. Trees are everywhere, and all my flowers are now in garden heaven. My weber grill blew away, as did all my chairs. I will be very busy for the next couple days, so I am just going to post a quick thread to let everyone know how I am doing.

....My weight is just falling off! Today I am 180.0 pounds... ANOTHER PURPLE DUDE FOR MY SIGNATURE! 30 pounds gone! (10 for Atkins). Actually, when I stood on the scale this morning, it kept fluctuating between 179.5 and 180.0, before finally settling for 180.0! DARN! Pretty soon, the 180's will be in the past!

Sorry to run in and out, but I have a lot to do!!!!

WOW, Christy. So glad you are okay. As much as it hurts to lose flowers and grills, etc., it sure beats loss of life or serious injury.
Also a big WOW for your 30 lb loss. Fantastic!

Typhoons are VERY frequent here in Okinawa. Typhoon season is from June to November, and every year we usually get at least 2 or 3... at the least. A couple years ago, we got a "SUPER Typhoon", which is a typhoon that has winds gusting to 150 miles per hour or greater! Some people died in that one, but usually the people that die think they are invinsible and go out to surf the gigantic waves. That is guaranteed death! Some just go outside by the ocean to watch, and get pulled into the ocean. We have a warning system, and when the typhoon has reached us, we are prohibited to go outside until we get the storm watch or all clear message. My husband works at the fire department, so all have heard as yet is some reports that peoples windows, and sliding glass doors busted, causing not only flooding, but cut up faces and the like. Usually, houses/apartments have bars over the windows (haha, not for theft but for tyhpoons!), and ALL of our houses and buildings are made of concrete. Ugly, but it keeps us safe!

Enough about that, you all probably are sick of me rambling on about typhoons....

I hear you on the typhoon front--my dh is Korean and i met him over in Korea when I was teaching English. Every once in a while a typhoon would pass over, especially if you were near Pusan or on Cheju island. The major water problems Korea has is all the flooding that happen with the rains in the summer time. Too many people lose thier lives or lose all thier belongings. Lucky me, I was in taegu, the highest city in Korea so there was no flood action there!
