  • OK, chicks! Our Challenge group has seemed to fall by the wayside (including myself, I know). I'm here to gather everyone back together, as well as any newcomers, and get us back on track!

I'm proposing a quick Seven Day Challenge to jump start us for the next round.

    Here's the skinny:
    1. Pick 2-3 goals to focus on for the next seven days.
    2. Meet ALL of your goals every day for the next seven days.
    3. If you mess up one day, you have to start over (i.e. the next day you're back on track is Day One).
    4. Primary goal is to make it all seven days perfectly OP. When you've completed seven OP days in a row, rinse and repeat as needed.

Post your goals here for everyone to see, then let us know how you're doing. Because you know, accountability is key.

    So who's with me?
  • My goals for the Seven Day Challenge:

    1. Drink at least 80 oz. of water.
    2. Exercise every day, even if it's just a 10-minute walk with the dog. Just DO *something* active.
    3. Eat more fruits and veggies (which means eating LESS junk). At least one with every meal, and snacks should be a fruit or veggie as well.

I will track my progress here as follows:
1 for every OP day completed
    1 for falling off track
  • Count me in!!!!! This is just what I need to kick off the Thanksgiving Challenge! Here goes....

    1. Water...3L a day, not so hard, I drink out of and refill a 1.5 L bottle, sip at it all night on my 12 hr 7p-7a shift, and we have a water cooler so the water is always fresh and cold...my best investment so far.

    2. Exercise...Well I know I'll get in my 90 min Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, so my goal will be to add in Thursday and try to do SOMETHING the other days. I tend to think of those days as "days off" and veg out a bit.

    3. Diet.....no CHEATS!! I had a rough weekend between ladies poker night and bowling night on Saturday (who knew bowlers are such beer drinkers? LOL) I NEED to eat more veggies!!! *in fact, i already have some homemade spaghetti sauce in the slow cooker, complete with fresh peppers, mushrooms and zucchini, and plan to serve it over spaghetti squash for supper....I never in a million years thought I would like spag. squash, but I actually like it! and so do the kids!

    4. STAY MY BUTT OFF THE DAMN SCALE!!!!!!!!! Why oh why do I weigh myself every stinkin day!! Why, oh why, do I step onto the scales at work every time I pass one!? So I'll be hiding my scale TODAY. Well, I'll weigh in on wednesday for the T-day challenge but other than that, NO!

    5. NO FAST FOOD THIS WEEK... Yes Subway, this means you too! Ok, maybe once over the weekend....but I MUST cook my meals this week~I will not make excuses...even though I do have a tough work week, Monday-Wed-Thurs, 7p-7a....

Good enough start for now.....Oh yes and this challenge for all of us...at least five positive self esteem thoughts every day.
  • I'm in!!!
    Goals:
    1) Exercise at least an hour a day
    2) stay away from the potato chips(my downfall)
    3) watch my food intake

    Good=
    Bad=
    Good luck!
  • Great idea, count me in.

    1. Stay below 1500 cals a day.
    2. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day.
    3. Drink entire contents of water jug every day. (it holds about 6 cups of water)

MONDAY: one down, 6 to go.
TUESDAY: Glad i signed up for this, i would not have exercised otherwise.
WEDNESDAY: Had to push myself to exercise, but it was done.
THURSDAY: Got them all in, weigh-in day tomorrow.
FRIDAY: I blew it. No exericise, WELL over 1500 cals, i did drink my water. At least i did something right today. ha ha That is okay though, back on track and starting over. Gosh darn it.

    Starting over:
Day 1: Made it. Worked in the yard ALL day. Drank more water than a fish. Too hot and tired to eat.
Day 2: Very good day. Gots lots of exercise in, stayed within my bounds.
Day 3: Doing well. Wasnt hungry at all today, drank lots of h2o, and worked my rearend off with Gunner peterson.
Day 4: Good day. Great with water. Good with exercise, wasnt really in the mood, made myself do it anyway, which is a good feeling. Food was under 1500, as per goal.
Day 5: I did REALLY well considering the stress today had. My elliptical caught all my frustration, used to my fridg would. Yaa for me.
  • Hey count me in, I really really need to get back to it, I need to get dedicated again - I have become complacent, and I really dont want to gain back the weight Ive already lost so here are my goals:

    1. Write down EVERYTHING that i eat, aim to stay around 1500 cals a day.
    2. Exercise 3 times in 7 days.
    3. Stop getting take-outs, cook from scratch things that are good for me!

    Good luck everyone!!

  • Welcome everyone! I'm so glad to have you all here with me!

Yesterday went well, and Day Two is off to a good start.

Also, just for the record, I've decided to add a longer-term goal for myself: no fast food until after my wedding (October 7). That's so completely doable, I just have to remember.

How are the rest of you doing? How did Day One go for you?

    ~Elisha
  • Hey there Elisha, that's my name BTW, except my name is spelled Elycia, are you planned on getting to a particular weight by your wedding? You have done so well so far. Congrats on your current weight loss and on your wedding. I am sure you will be a beautiful bride.

    Elycia
  • I don't have a specific weight in mind for my wedding. Any I lose will be a positive thing!

Most of the weight I've lost to this point came off about 2 years ago, and I actually lost more, I just gained it back. *blargh*

I keep trying to get back to the losing, and it hasn't worked very well so far. But I'm still trying, and I guess that's the point, right?
  • Morning chickies!

Day Two went well, and now I'm working on Day Three!

Water, food, and exercise all decent yesterday.

Stacy and Elycia, I see you are both going strong! Keep up the good work!

    How's everyone else doing?

    ~Elisha
