Hi everyone, I'm new (sort of)

  • HI everyone...I have been around here for a while, but I haven't posted much. I had Gastric bypass surgery in March of 2002 at a high weight of 398lbs. Over the course of the last 2 years, I have gained back some weight. I got on the scale this morning, and I have decided I have had ENOUGH! I didn't go thru all that pain for nothing. I got down to a low weight of 215lbs. I am so embarrassed to say that I have gained back...65lbs.

Ladies, I HAVE to get back on track. Please, give me any and all suggestions to help, please. So far, this morning, I am doing OK...here's what I've eaten so far today:

Breakfast: 1 egg cooked in pam, 1 strip of bacon
Snack: 1 medium bannana, 1 slice of cheese, 3 slices of Healthy Choice chicken

I have GOT to stop the constant snacking/grazing and get my butt into gear with the exercise!
  • well hi there, dottie! and congrats on your resolution! seems to me that your last line says it all:

stop the grazing and get moving!

sometimes, i tell myself that i can have a snack IF I REALLY WANT IT right after i take a walk or ride my bike or do something else that makes me move. when i'm done, i either forget the promise, or i'm really thirsty and drink something [without calories, of course!].

or, i just drink instead of eat. that helps a lot.

hang out!! tell us the good, the bad, and the ugly.. you can take care of this. honest!
  • WOWEE congrats on your weight loss, good job. I'm sorry you gained back some but just by you being here is a good start to getting it back off.

Grazing is my problem too..... lets stop together
  • Welcome Dottie. We are a friendly sort of group & always enjoy new participants. Also want to tell you that we don't live far away. My hubby lives near Dayton & I am there every other weekend.
  • Hey Dottie,
I've been kinda worried about gaining the weight back...and I'm kinda worried I may one of the few who can't stop losing. I'm down to 137 lbs and my goal was 140 lbs. I trying to eat more so I'll stop losing but I'm only 10 1/2 months out and I don't want to eat too much because from what I've heard after a year or so the appetite comes back and it takes more discipline. I've been thinking about calling my doctor to see what he thinks about it. I go back for my 1 year appointment in October and I haven't decided whether to call him now or wait.
I do know you came to the right place for support. These folks are great !!
