How I knew my marriage was over

  • 1. I'd get angry when I saw his car in the driveway
    2. I thought his head was too big
    3. I thought his ears were too low
    4. I thought his breath was bad
    5. I thought his arms were scrawny
    6. I thought his butt was flat
    7. I thought his feet were ugly
    8. I hated his crooked smile
    9. I hated his smell
    10. I hated his nose
    11. I hated his dull eyes
    12. I hated to see him eat
    13. I hated to see him sleep
    14. I hated to see him breathe
    15. He told me my sister was ugly boring and a waste of time
    16. I told him he was ugly, boring and waste of time and lousy in bed
    17. He slapped me
18.He slapped my 5 yr. old child
    19. I slapped him with a restraining order
    20. He didn't heed the order and came over to push me around one last time
    21. I beat the crap out of him with a broom
    22. When the broom broke, I beat him with the pieces.
    23. He went to the ER for pain pills
    24. He told his whole work that I beat him up
    25. I had my sis borrow some of his pain pills, after all my arms were dang sore from swinging that broom, lol
    26. His parent sent me a book called "Tough Love", I told them tough sh@@, you can have your son back
    27. I never heard from him again , that how I knew my marriage was over.

    ,

This really isn't a joke, it's my life. I have a wonderful DH now, that isn't abusive at all. He's heard this story, and I think he'd be afraid to. Lol
  • Lily ,
I am sorry to hear this but I wish I could give you a big hug from this experience. divorce is bad enough with out the violence on one end. Loved reading about the broom though. Wish I had that much courage before my divorce. Btw mine sent me a book on how to get your loved one sober. I haven't talked with them since.
  • Ah, the advice my MIL gives me to "make my marriage better". . .

She even offered to buy me a book which explained how to be a "good Christain wife."

    No thanks.
  • Another good sign that it was over, was when he asked me how I wanted to celebrate our 4th anniversary. My reply was, "I don't find it any reason to celebrate".
  • another sign the marriage is over, he comes home drunk one more time though this time he punches a hole in the wall and says I should be grateful it wasn't me. yep , definitely over
