Is it harmful at all to your body to go to the gym fairly soon after eating dinner. I was lazy this morning and didn't get my butt up early before work to go to the gym. I have dinner plans after work with a friend of mine and my gym is close to the restaurant so it would be easy to go there right from dinner instead of driving home and then back to the gym which I won't do anyway once I get home. I'll probalby just have a small salmon salad and water and I figure by the time we talk a little, pay the check, I get to the gym & change, that will give me some time to digest. Any thoughts? I don't do this on a regular basis. I did walk an hour today but I'd like to get 30-45 minutes in on the elliptical as well. Thanks in advance!
I do it all of the time. Worst case scenario - you get an upset tummy. I ran 6 miles 30 minutes after a huge italian dinner (including 2 glasses of wine, dessert & coffee) Tuesday night this week. I was a bit miserable and was kicking myself for eating so much, but other than that the run went well and I'm sure it helped me digest my huge carb loaded dinner a bit faster than usual!
