weight watchers formula

  • Can any one tell me how to calultae the points. I know there is a formula using calories, and fiber, but Im not sur how its done. I am not currently on ww, but I was wondering how my eating is measuring up.

    For example"
    Yesterday I ate

A half a banana with a tsp of honey, and 1 tbs of Peanut butter on 2 slices of double fiber toast.

lunch was a lean frozen dinner

snack was 1/4 c salsa with 2 tbs ff refried beans, 2tbs ff sour cream on celery.

    dinner was beef stroganoff:
    .33 lb ground chuck
.33 cup reduced fat cream of mushroom soup
    mushrooms and onions
    1/2 c egg noodles

    Thanks
    Christie

If you read the nutritional informatio on the lean cuisine, egg noodles and soup you should be able to calculate the points for them. The onions and the mushrooms should be 0 pts - not sure about the beef as I don't have my points book with me.
  • Actually 1 point can be between 30 and 75 calories depending on fat and fiber.
  • Ok, thanks ladies. It is seem complecated, although I know its a great program. I guess I'll just keep up my calorie counting.
  • Do you have any of the ww tools and books to work with? That would certainly make it easier for you.

Some people join up to get the materials and buy the Foodpoints book and the Dining out guide and then do WW at home on their own or you can order the materials from WW on-line for one price and do it a home without attending the meetings.
  • I can get the tools, my Mom has all that. I looked it over, and made an attempt once. I was talking to an old friend of mine, and she is doing so great on ww and it got me intrested again. I'll have to pick up moms books this weekend, and look them over again. I think I am allowed 22 points.
  • The books will be a great help to you.

Just have patience with yourself - it takes time to build new routines and make changes to your diet.
