101 Tips & Tricks - Day 16

  • Tip #16 - Create a Calorie Deficit

The key is to burn more calories through exercise and to knock calories out of your diet, says Nancy Clark, asports nutritionist in private practice at Healthworks Fitness Center in Chestnut Hill, MA. "Eating just 200 few calories per day could add up to losing 20 pounds in a year."

Well no kidding. Calories in have to be less than calories out in order to lose weight. Knowing it is one thing - doing it is another. My goal is to cut 500 calories from my daily food intake and exercise off another 500. That should be a 2 lb per week loss. Now am I doing it -- heck no.
  • Yep sounds like a good plan, I have all sorts of plans too! lol
I have drifted away from counting calories and I will start that up again, that is the only way I know for sure how I'm doing.

    Thanks for the reminder. Phyllis
  • Yep, I think it all comes down to counting calories and balancing your diet. I seem to figure out how to manipulate points and all so that I stay in my target range, but don't lose any pounds. I need to count every bite and make sure I take in less than I burn!
