  • Hi everyone,

I'm Sarah, I have just recently joined the board and I wanted to say a quick howdy, and thanks for having me here.

I've been overweight since I was a kid and as I got older I just got used to it really, but a few years ago I started working out a little and began to feel a change in my body and myself. Unfortunately I went back to university and forgot all about it! But after graduation I began to take my health a little more seriously, and began working out at home and cutting out/down on all sorts of nasty foods. I lost some weight, but then stayed where I was. Then a year or so later I lost a stone over the summer, but again, some of it came back on and I stayed where I was. But to be honest, although I was really miserable about my size, I wasn't taking it all too seriously, and although I was getting healthier I wasn't really losing any weight.

Now I've decided if I really want to lose weight then I need to focus on it and really give it my all, so here I am! I'm not doing a particular diet for now, just sticking to a calorie allowance, smaller portions, balancing food groups etc, alongside exercise 5 times a week- I enjoy aerobics, dance style workouts, yoga, pilates, Tae Bo, walking, circuit training, weights, and the Leslie Sansone DVDs which I have only just discovered.

Anyhoo, sorry for rambling! I'm really glad to be here and I look forward to chatting with you all

It's amazing what difference liking exercise can make, I used to hate it, but 18 months on, I am still really enjoying the exercise. I even got up this morning at 7 am for a swim!
  • Wow, 7 AM?! Well done! I soo couldn't do that! But then I can't swim so probably a good thing I don't try
