Well today is one week into this diet for me. I started at 186.1 and am down to 183. I know a lot of people who lost more than that their first week. But I lost more then that 1 - 2 pounds a week goal so I feel pretty good. Can someone answer should I have lost more then just 3 pounds the first week?
I don't know what diet you're doing, but 3 lbs a week is great for ANY diet. Losing a ton of weight in a week is not good, or lasting. You're doing an excellent job!! Way to go!!!
Thanks so much. I just think it has to come off fast even though I know it's not going too nor is it healthy to take if off fast. I'm doing LAWL and seems pretty easy to stick with. We gotta keep going!!!!
Some people lose a lot the first week because they had a high sodium content in their previous way of eating (and they were retaining a lot of water). You probably didn't, and those 3 pounds you lost are fat, and not water.
You are off to a GREAT start, and NEVER compare your weight loss with others (especially men), it can be discouraging. We all lose at different rates
Thanks for all the words of support. Last night I didn't too well. I'm sure it could've been a lot worse. Our little town has their annual fair. It's called "Dutch Days". I ate a fish sandwich above everything else on my LAWL plan. I jumped on the scale this morning and it's up .8 so I know I gotta stick to the plan. Back to being strict. Gotta get that .8 off. I lost only 3 pounds my first week also. I think that is pretty normal and healthy. I don't average the 2 pounds a week that LAWL promises either, but I am happy with the loss.
