Looking for a reliable buddy

  • Hello, my name is Sarah. I'm 27, married and have 5 yr old boy. Like many moms I work and am very busy and have let myself go... We are starting a "biggest loser" contest at work and I really want to lose about 45 pounds. I need some serious motivation. I would like someone who is willing to email and check in on a consistent basis and help keep each other motivated! Here's my email [email protected]
  • Hello and Welcome!!

My name is Sunshine I am 26 wife to Brian and proud mommy to Garrett 8, Madison 4, and Colt 2!!

Good luck with your weight loss you can do it!!
  • Hi Sarah and Welcome! First, I would like to say that I would recommend that you edit your first post and take off your e-mail address. They strongly discourage posting e-mails as it can be kind of dangerous. As long as you have it enabled, people can e-mail you through the system without having to put out your personal information.
That said, I think we have similar lives and weight loss goals and I would really be excited to be your motivational partner (or at least one of them). I am 31 with a beautiful 4 year old daughter, Breanna. I work full time and don't have a lot of time for myself after work and family. But I'm trying to make this a priority and could use some help.
It's great that you've got a program going at work. Challenges can be a great source of motivation. Well, I check this site at least daily and would love to know how things are going with you. Let's see if we can get this thread going!!
  • Hi!

I would love an accountability buddy! I'm a bit older but have 35 pounds to lose altogether. My mini goal is to be under 140 by my birthday 7/25. I've just started the Body for Life for Women 12 week challenge. So far so good.

How long is your challenge? That would be so cool to have a group going at work! It sounds like a fabulous opportunity!

  • biggest loser challenge
Here's what were doing. It's 12 weeks long and we will weigh in evey monday and one person will keep track of it so only we know how much we've lost. We all pay $20 at the beginning, and every week we weigh in. If you stay the same or lose weight you don't pay any other money. If you've gained any you pay a quarter for every pound and the "biggest loser" for the week wins the "gained weight" money. At the end of 12 weeks whoever has lost the largest precentage of weight wins all the money everyone paid at the beginning. We already have about 10-15 people so whoever wins will get around $200. That's enough incentive for me!
  • Wow--sounds great! Looks like we're both on a 12 week challenge. Today is Day 2 for me...Did 30 min on the ex-bike and 30 min. of abs and lower body. It helped to have the History Channel on while I grunted it out

I managed to evade a late night pig-out with a cup of Cherry diet Jello last night. Night is the hardest for me since I get home late and want to clean out the fridge before bed--a big No No for me!

So what's your plan for the week?

  • Hi!
I'm Lia. I'm 24 and would like to lose about 30 pounds and I am looking for support.

I currently weigh 175 and would like to be 145. I am very athletic(work out typically 4-7 days a week), so these 175 pounds are a lot of muscle(I am a size 10 comfortably), but I want to get rid of some of the bulk and have a more feminine figure.
I would really appreciate a buddy that can encourage me and that I can help encourage as well. Losing weight is difficult.
  • The challenge sounds really great. It really sounds like a win/win situation. You get to loose weight and gain cash - what an incentive. Good luck to you! I hope you're a great big loser!! Be sure to post your progress here so we can give support. It's not money, but I've found it helps.
  • Sorry. I hit the button before I was done. It's been a crazy week and my mind's not where it should be....
Chiccitychick-Good luck on your challenge as well. Is this a self-imposed challenge or a group effort?
I really need to get back into the swing of things. I've recently moved and started a new job, so the weight loss has unfortunately gone onto the back burner. But I hope to start amping it up again and really getting into the exercise.
