Yet another newbie!

  • Hi everyone! I have been lurking for a couple of weeks and finally decided to post my introduction. Maybe I was waiting to see if I could stick with this dieting thing?? Not sure - but I did and as I head into week 3 I haven't really lost any steam, so here I am!

I'm 37, divorced/no kids and I live in the Dallas area. This is my first SERIOUS attempt at weight loss in about 15 years. Those pounds just keep slowly packing on over the years, but, thanks to certain meds & an improper diet, I gained about 50 lbs in the past year pushing me well over the 300 lb mark.

So here I am at a weight yet to be determined - I still don't own a scale! - and 2 weeks into changing my life via Diet To Your Door (http://www.3fatchicks.com/Diets/Diet...ad_our_Review/) - and I honestly haven't felt better in YEARS! Wellllll that is after I finally detoxed from the sugar and carbs in Week 1 - but that's another story! LOL I have about 150 lbs to lose in order to get to the proper weight for my height (5'6"), but for now my goal is to make it through each day successfully. And taking that into consideration, I have had 13 NSV's in the past 2 weeks!

A work colleague is doing Diet To Your Door with me, but she only has about 30 lbs to lose, so I would love to find a diet buddy on here who has similar goals - i.e. 100+ lbs. to lose.

Lastly I am so excited to have found 3fatchicks.com - what a great resource for dieters! I love reading through all the posts and seeing such positive attitudes - it's really inspiratonal! I hope that I can be one of the success stories one day! Actually I know I will be because I have made that decision.

I look forward to hearing from all of y'all and getting to know you better!

  • Hi Robbie! Congrats on 3 weeks of success! That is amazing! I am new here too, have about 80 pounds to lose. I would love to chat sometime about how you've managed to keep pushing forward for three weeks..I can't seem to make it past 3 days! Anywho..Hi and Congrats!!!

  • Hi Jules & thanks!

I have to say that my success is due in great part to the diet I am on. Diet To Your Door sends you all the food - you just have to eat it. And with my schedule that is really what I needed. I have no time to put any thought into my meals so I will eat pretty much whatever someone puts in front of me... LOL Maybe my "success" should be called extreme laziness??? j/k!

Which does bring me to my next point - EXERCISE! I have not started an exercise program yet. I was sooooo uncomfortable only 2 weeks ago when I started that I couldn't conceive of exercise. Amazing what getting past that first week of sugar/carb withdrawals will do for you. I am not quite ready to run a marathon, but at least now I can see myself doing a reasonable amount of exercise very soon (my colleague and I are planning on joining the Curves near the office this coming week).

Hope to chat more with you soon........
