Field Worker~needs suggestions

  • Hello everyone, this is my 2nd day back in about 4 months. I'd lost 16 lbs between Christmas 2005 and Valentine's Day 2006, however I fell off and managed to gain back 25 lbs Now I'm back with a vengeance determined to change my lifestyle once and for all. However, I am a field social worker and spend about 80% of my work day in my car driving around. Due to my hectic scheduled I am often tempted to stop and get a quick fast food sandwich. I realize most fast food places sell salads, but It's rather difficult to drive and eat a salad (but french fries are finger foods ) Anyone with suggestions of healthier choices for people on the run please share.
  • I Coco.. I'd put a cooler in your car and prepare food from home. It could be a regular cooler with blue ice packs or a fancier one that you could plug right into your car. Then as you are driving around find a nice shady spot with a beautiful view and enjoy your lunch.

    Stopping to eat lunch is important.. not just that it is dangerous to eat in your car.. but you NEED to slow down and enjoy your lunch and look around you. A stop could take as little as 15 minutes if you were really in a rush.

    If you had more time you could plan to meet a friend every now and then in a park or whatever; you could have a delicious lunch together. Prepared by you from home.

    THANKS TO RESPONDING TO MY POSTING. I AM NEW AS THIS SO I AM STILL LEARNING. I WOULD REALLY ENJOY IT IF YOU WOULD BE MY BUDDY I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE BOYFRIEND WHO IS SUPORTIVE BUT DOESNT REALLY UNDERSTAND. I HAVE FOUND TESE 100 CALORIE SNACK PACKS THAT ARE REALLY PRETTY GOOD ESPECIALLY TO CARRY AROUND WITH YOU NABISICO MAKES THEM THEY HAVE CHEESE ITS AND WHEAT THINS AND CHIPS AHOY AND BAKE DORITOS THATS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TAKING TO WORK WITH ME. WHEN I HAVE TO STOP AND EAT FAST FOOD I EAT OFF THE KIDS MEAL AND SUBSTITUTE THE FRIES FOR A FRUIT YOGURT CUP OR SIDE SALAD. WELL I HOPE THESE THINGS HELP YOU OUT. I HAVENT STARTED EXERCISING YET I AM GOING TO START WALKING TONIGHT AND I AM GOING TO START SWIMMING I HOPE IT WILL BE EASIER ON THE KNEES UNTIL I LOSE SOME MORE WEIGHT IF YOU HAVE ANY EXERCISING TIPS THAT WOULD BE GREAT.
