Mayonaise & Pistachios

  • What brand of mayo is allowed? Also can we have pistachios? TIA
  • I would look for a reduced fat mayo.. either best Foods(Hellmans) or I also get one at Trader Joe's that is quite good. The best choice would be one made with canola oil or olive oil, but I am not sure an olive oil one exists. Main thing would be to use these sparingly.

Pistachios are fine. Any nut is fine, as long as you follow the portion controls. I'd keep a serving of these to no more than 15 as a snack. Might be good to look for the ones without the red dye , if possible.
  • You can make your own mayonaise, that way there, you can add olive oil to it instead of the other oils found in mayo.
  • Okay, I have to ask - how the heck does one go about making homemade mayonnaise????
