I was just at a cafe getting a salad for lunch. The chef offered me a free sample of some pasta dishes, which I turned down (I had pasta for lunch for the past two days). Another woman who was getting a serving of pasta, then looked at me and said, "I see you're getting a salad; that's why you're so skinny."

I've been getting lots of compliments from people I know, but this is the first time in my life that a complete stranger has called me skinny!!! That just totally floored me. Of course, though, I just had to inform the lady that I lost about 40 pounds this year (165 at my highest). It's like I haven't fully accepted the fact that I'm a normal sized person, and I have to point out that I used to be bigger. Maybe, if/when this happens next time, I'll just smile and say thank you.

Anyway, I just wanted to share. I was having one of the worst days ever, and this really turned things around for me.
