Just got home yesterday after an open RNY on Monday. I don't feel TOO bad ... my stomach feels as though I've been bludgeoned with a baseball bat and it is a killer to rise from any sitting position and what I wouldn't give to shower, but all in all, not too bad!
At any rate, I'm slowly reading through all the posts here and wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for sharing your experiences. It is certainly helpful at the beginning to read the wisdom shared by those who have gone before.
So, I'm full clear liquid until Monday when I go for my first postop visit and hopefully, removal of this nasty little JP drain!
Any suggestions or thoughts on what I can do to optimize the good and minimize the bad during these first days will be greatly appreciated!

I really never realized my out-of-shape abdomen had so many muscles but they ARE improving, if a bit slowly.
