Another very cold morning here. We are expecting around 66F, which is going to be freezing for me I think. Hopefully it won't rain for our outing to the aquarium.
I am looking forward to going for my 4th B12 jab this afternoon. I have now gone FOUR days without a nap. That would have to be a record for me! Well, for a number of years anyway.
Kayley - I still have my fingers crossed that the Whirlpool job works out. I don't think you need any more good luck though, as it sounds as though they are using their common sense and will employ you simply because you are so good.
Sharon - I hope that Aidan is feeling better real soon. I can only imagine how heartbreaking it must be to see your children so ill. I am like Ammi's friend, and if a child is sick at school I have to get someone else to clean it up, or I will be joining them at being sick.
Robwen - Welcome back! I do remember seeing your name before. You have done very well so far with the weight loss. I think that I would agree with Wyllen that 1200 could be too low, even though you are unable to exercise. At a heavier weight I would imagine that at least 1500 would be fine, even for a sedentary lifestyle. Mind you, I don't really know the facts about calories, as I never counted counted calories. I am just going by what I have seen others say on 3FC. Are you able to do upper body exercises in the wheelchair, like using weights? Or does that pull your back too? I know when I pulled my back I could hardly move, so ANY exercise was out of the question. Good luck with the rest of your journey.
Nancy - Good to see you checking in, even though you are so busy. I must remember to just do a 'fly by' post every couple of days, even if I can't write too much. At least then people know we are doing OK. I never mean to make people worry, but I seem to have a long time between posts at times. I hope you have some spare time on your hands soon, just for YOU.
Ammi - Do you have any money left after the orthodontist visit? I have heard that they can be scary things for the parents and their wallets.
You did well to choose something healthy while you were out. I am still working on that as we don't go out that often and I always try to be home for meals. I have confidence in myself and the choices I will make, it is just VERY hard to find really healthy food while we are out.
Lilion - It sounds as though you have a wonderful week planned! My favourite activity would be the archery. I have only done it a few times, but I love it! I often say we will find a club here in the city, but we haven't done so yet. I hope you have a pretty good three days leading up to your week away, and that you aren't too rushed off your feet. You don't want to be exhausted for the start of your break.
Annie - You are doing a fantastic job with your exercise! You seem truly committed to it now and I don't think you have had a break for a while. It feels good once it is just an everyday part of your lifestyle doesn't it? I just don't feel right if I don't get to exercise each day. I had allowed myself a 'rest' day once a week for a while, but that was before I cut down to just once a day. I find it easy enough to exercise once a day EVERY day. It was the afternoon workout that I was finding very difficult to get in at the end of a working day.
Patti - You are as good as Annie. 70 mins a day is fantastic! I kinda wish I was still doing that, as maybe then I could move the last few pounds, but I know that I was overdoing things with that much AND work, so I'll just stick to what I'm doing and see how things work out. I hope the change to your routine with the workmen around won't mess you around too much.
Brenda - Your 'stars' sound gorgeous. I love your theme too! I truly hope that your relay is an amazing success. Do the adults have a 'uniform' too, or just the mascots?
Xena - I'm glad I'm not the only one with a holiday scrapbook still waiting to be finished. I have some things in the one of our trip to the US last Sept/Oct, but I haven't actually done anything to make it look 'flash'. I've never done scrapbooking before, so don't really have any brilliant ideas on what to do. Maybe I should do a course.
I hope you had a lovely relaxing time watching your car being detailed. I could handle that 'job' too... the watching part, not the detailing part.
Crock - Your 'Powder Puff Ride' sounds like a wonderful idea to me. Having the men do all the work, while the women get to rest sounds delightful. Mind you, I can't really complain, as hubby does his fair share around the house, but it still sounds like a great setup. Is this an annual thing, or is this the first one? I'm not sure if you mentioned that.
Luxorbea - I'm SO glad your doctor could ease your mind about your daughter's asthma. I have seen some kids at school with asthma and the most scary situations are when they don't have the control of things themselves. They tend to get worse because they panic about being able to get the ventolin puffer soon enough. The best ones are those who have control of the puffer and know that it is on hand when they need it. I can't remember if you said how old your daughter is, but if she needs ventolin, I hope that she is able to use it herself as soon as possible. It truly does make the world of difference to their stress levels.
Well, I think I had better finish off there. I've snuck this in before work and I got a little carried away. Still have to do the dishes, get my 'face' on and then walk to work.
I hope you all have a wonderful night/day.
Take care,
Zelma
