  • WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
    We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

    Motivational Monday
    Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
    Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
    Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

    WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!
  • Brenda - yes the 22nd is my birthday too, I will be 38. How old will you be?

Hpnotq - good to see you post again, I wondered where you had got to. I hope that emergency that took you out of town is all sorted out now and whoever/whatever it involved is ok.

Patti - in my first week or two of dieting I always make sure that I eat a lot of vegetables because they are normally no points, or very few. I also make sure I have sugar free jelly (jello) and low fat snacks. As the weeks go on I introduce more exciting things into my diet like pizza etc, that way I don't feel like I am missing out on anything. But definitely for the first week or two it's vegetables vegetables and more vegetables As long as I am not hungry I know I can stick to a diet.

LuxorBea - sorry to hear that your daughter had an asthma attack. It must have been so scarey for you both. I had a friend with asthma and it used to really upset me to see her suffer with the attacks. Anyway, I am glad your daughter is ok now, will she need to take those ventolin inhalers regularly now, is it too early to know?

Heather (wyllen) - hmm make myself a magnet, now that sounds like a good idea. I will have to see if I can get that self adhesive magnetic strip stuff and take it from there.

Annie - glad to see you posting, sounds like you had a busy weekend, bet you walked off loads of lbs.

SueMarie - any photos you post will be great ones I am sure, and I bet we will see a difference even if you don't

Ok ER the season finale is about to start, I have to move so I can pay attention to it Bye for now,

    Hugs,

    Ammi
  • Ammi that plan sounds esy enough. i love to eat veggies just because they fill you up so good. i got a new video i am gonna start doing on wednesday nights to get in a little more exercise.wish me luck!and no i have not weighed today can you believe it?i think i am scared to be disappointed again!
  • AmmiUK – I will get those pics up with I can.

Okie, so I went to the Luncheon. BLAH! I’m a little perturbed about what I learned. I mean don’t get me wrong… I’m glad they are loosing the weight… but I found out that many of the teachers are starving themselves. At the luncheon, we had Claim Jumpers cater, yummy, but WOW! I did good tho, I had a salad, 1 eggroll and some grilled vegetables. As we were talking, many of the teachers were talking about how the salad they were gonna eat was their meal for the day. 1 meal a day! I guess I should have known, but… I figured… well I dunno what I figured. I wasn’t in it for the money, it was a good motivation factor for me. I’m going to leave it at that and leave out the “but’s” and “what if’s”. Lord knowes I could have starved myself too, but I also know that I’m doing it a much healthier way.

I guess my whining helped me feel a little better… but believe me, James is gonna hear it tonight too poor boy! *grin*

Alrighty… I’ve decided I’m going to my 8th graders graduation tonight. I called my instructor and he said I could take the exam early YAY!

    Take care everyone!
  • Patti - I think when you have the right mindset, make sure you don't get hungry, and have lots of low fat snacks for if you do, then dieting isn't as hard as it could be. Another thing I still do now is to have a low fat hot chocolate at bed time so that I don't go to bed hungry, and it satisfies my sweet tooth too.

Good luck with that new exercise DVD, I hope you will enjoy it and it will make a nice change to the treadmill. I really must start doing my DVD again.

I can totally relate to you being worried about disappointment from the scales, keep on avoiding them and when you do have your official WI you are going to see a good loss, I am sure of it!!

SueMarie - it seems so wrong doesn't it when those teachers aren't dieting properly, one meal a day, especially if it's only salad is just not the way to do it. At least you can be proud that you are losing weight the correct way, the healthy way! I bet you will keep it off much longer too.

Ok ER has finished now. I am sure we are behind on the show as we are with most US shows. So PLEASE can somebody tell me if Luca and Abby survive the shooting, and what about the baby?? I can't wait til the new series to find out

    Bye for now,

    Hugs,

    Ammi
  • Ammi - You are doing SO WELL!!! Keep it up, you are almost to the 2's!!!!

LadyHawke - Hello and to the group!!! Dr. Cox is TOO funny...I love it! Hope to see you around more!

Wyllenn - WAY TO GO!!!!!!! You are almost there!!!!

Zelma - Hope you have a good week!

Brenda - Good to see you back, and OP once more! You're going to do this!!!!

Hypnotq - Nice to see you again!!!

Luxorbea - I used to have a friend that had asthma, and it can be nasty sometimes. to her!

Annie - Missing exercising? NSV! Rock on girl!

Sue - Lately, I've been trying to meet people for weight loss support...on my Xanga...cuz that's my weight loss blog...and half of the girls on there are anorexic, and it just kills me to read their posts. So horrible. When those ladies start eating again, they are going to gain it all back, whereas you're going to stay slim and trim! Sorry you weren't able to enjoy the luncheon as much.

    Good news from Michigan! lol!
got a call from the lady at Whirlpool about the job, but I wasn't home at 9:45am when she called, so I immediately gave her a call when I saw she had left me a message. Checked my e-mail, and found the typing test, and the Microsoft Word test waiting for me. So I went to the website, and did the typing test. I thought I was doing so horribly...but I got almost 10,000 keystrokes an hour...the minimum was 3,500! She told me that I just did phenomenally. And I got a 95% on the Word test...only cuz I accidentally hit submit when I didn't mean to once. Finally got ahold of her again this evening, and she told me she had to look for my resume cuz she misplaced it...but she finally found it again, and called me back. Had to e-mail another copy of the resume, so she has it to send to the bigwigs at Whirlpool, along with two professional references. AND! I have a meeting with the bigwigs tomorrow from noon-2. I guess I'll see what the job is like, and do some scenarios, and then the big guys will make sure they like me, and then I'll get a work schedule!!! So yeah, I'm feeling pretty dang good right now. And even if for some reason this doesn't work out, I got a call from the Herald Palladium (newspaper) today...and I have an interview on Thursday for help running their classifieds department! AND! I got a call from the bank I applied to, and they want to talk to me sometime. So, even if I DONT get the Whirlpool job, which I'm thinking is highly doubtful, I have those to fall back on. FINALLY! My hard work is paying off!
  • oh bother! i have vinyl siding people starting on my house wednesday which will upset my whole routine.! oh well i guess i will get up early and do treadmill for 35 minutes early and then 35 minutes at night and do my dvd two nights a week.that should confuse my metabolism really good!
  • Thank you all for the kind words about my daughter. I talked to her dr and am now feeling much better. I have this thing about not completely trusting the word of ER docs I've had conflicting info in the past, and always feel better after talking to the dr that has the whole medical history, you know? Anyway, it's still a wait and see as far as it being cronic, but for now I know what to do

Sue Marie- I am glad to hear you were able to arrange to make it to the graduation! I am sure the kids will be very pleased to know you changed your schedule and are able to be there.

Kayley- that is awesome that you have so many job offers! You can take a look at each one and choose what YOU want

time to go help eith homework, have a nice night
  • Yep you guessed it Congratulations ammi on reporting another loss.. you are doing so well I am very pleased..
  • Kayley -- Good luck with the jobs! Looks like something's about to come thru!
  • Way to go girls...
Ammi - 4 lbs. loss way to go just a few to go and your in the 2's. That's what I'm hoping for soon too!

Kayley - CONGRATS I'm so, glad to hear about all your job interviews that are coming in.

    All the best to all.
  • Good evening ladies,

I thought I should check in once more before bedtime. lol.

Brenda: I have been house hunting to buy a house. We have been renting since we moved here and are looking for something now but so far no luck. Maybe we will have better luck when my hubby's truck is paid off in March because we will qualify for more of a home then. Well, a home like what we want on about 5 acres or so.

Suemarie: Those ladies may have won this battle with starvation but you will win the war because you aren't screwing up your matabolism by starving yourself!

Kayely: GOod for you on all the job things coming up. I know you will get something and maybe even offers from all three.

Good night all and Blessings to you,
    Annie

Sorry, Ammi, you'll just have to wait and see with the rest of us. The finale was the same, I'm guessing. Abby sliding to the floor and Luca on the gurney just inside the room.
  • Hi everybody! Just checking in for a moment... I fell asleep and woke up again so now need to go to bed for real LOL. Besides all my walking I went and did almost an hour of water aerobics so I do enjoy crashing in my beddie.

Yes I did find the recipe for shepherd's pie... sounds great and I think I too will add some veggies and stuff and try it this weekend if I have time; got kind of a busy one coming up!!

Kayley that is great about the tests and I wish you the best on the job!!!
  • Aiden is now ill, I've been cleaning sick up, scrubbing his mattress and washing bedlinen and clothes since 5am. I did a long post then lost it, I really don't have time to post again as I have to get more washing in and other washing hung out. Today is my one day 'off' a writing course, so now I've missed two of this term already, why does he have to be ill on Tuesdays?????
    Please accept my apologies
