night shift help.

  • I need help with my eating at work. I do home health and don't have access to a frige or micro wave. i do 12 hour shifts and really need some kind of meals I can fix that don't have to be heated or cooled. I usually just take snacks that can be eaten between the care I have to give to the baby I take care of. Since I work 12 hours I don't hav emuch time to cook either. I have to drive 1hour and 30 minutes each way and when I"m home I'm sleeping. Is there anyone out there that can help me??? Thanks
  • Can you bring a cooler?! Maybe bring fixings for wraps in one... wheat tortillas, precooked chicken, spinach etc... then you can just assemble them as needed? Same goes for salads. Fruit and a lot of kinds of veggies are pretty portable. Kashi makes some good granola bars...
  • Welcome!
I hear ya! I also work 3rds, only I work 10 hour shifts. I have the same problem, only we do have a fridge and microwave, only I have no energy to put together healthy meals.

I am going to try to start making healthy meals on my days off and freezing them so all I have to do is pull them out. But I agree with ValRock, lots of good ideas!

Good Luck and we're here if you need support!
