I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

  • Good Morning All,

Well it's another beautiful day here so I am just writing this before I go for a walk to the shops. We would have gone to the Mumbles but after spending so long working on the garden we are all feeling a bit stiff today So a walk to the shops will suffice, and then it's back home to get some laundry done.

LuxorBea - I read your bio and totally agree with you about the Luxor in Vegas. It is so impressive and when you come in to Vegas on a plane the beam it throws out is really stunning. I live in the UK but hubby and I got married in Vegas in 2002 and it's our dream to go back there again. We stayed in the Sahara Hotel, but definitely want to stay in the Luxor next time

That is amazing that you lost so much weight in just two weeks, that's what I lost in 6 weeks You sure must be doing something right. What is this Lord's Diet that you are following?

Idril - I have probably missed you, but just in case I haven't, just want to wish you a good time while you were away and look forward to seeing you post again when you get back.

Crock - are you being run off your feet by Austin? Haven't seen you post in a little while.

Zelma - where are you? Are you reading and not posting? If so, just want you to know you are missed.

Patti - hope you are having a good day today

Annie - how are you doing, is your back any better today? At least if it's a hot day you won't mind the ice treatment too much

A big to everybody, I have to go out now, but I will check back here later.

    Hugs,

    Ammi
  • I missed you again Ammi, I hope you're still feeling well, keeping busy and I SEE THERE'S NO MORE LIE-INS!!!!! I could do with some of your meds!!!!
The weather here is great too, but Gareth is still ill and won't eat yet so apart from some cleaning I've been playing nursey for him. I've not let him outside as the heat, along with his poorly tummy could make him worse, so we're all indoors. Steve is doing overtime again but it pays the bills so I can't complain. I weighed today, I've lost 3lbs since Tuesday, so I still need to lose 3 more to get 'legal', I hope with the exercise I'll be putting in and a full week of dieting more will come off and I'll be able to LOWER my weight tracker.
There are lots of people missing, some have been gone ages, I hope Catherine is well and Violet, Garnet, Jilllyb and Krisikka & anyone else, I always wonder if they are busy, depressed, off diet or are just bored with 3fc, I hope it is the former rather than the others.
    xxsharon
  • Just a quick 'hello' from me, to let you all know that I am still around. Well, knowing me, this will end up like a 'novel', because I tend to talk too much. I just mean that it won't have many individuals yet. They will have to come later.

Thank you to those who have been missing me. I truly don't know why I haven't been posting as much as I should. I was thinking about it today and all I could come up with is that it is FREEZING here! I know that sounds really silly, but I have been just wanting to sit here, with my hands tucked up nice and warm and not typing, just reading. I have also been sitting on the couch knitting scarves. I made a beautiful amazingly soft one for our Triple B Day and I just wanted to wear it ALL day, even after it supposedly warmed up. It just felt so wonderful to finally feel warm. This wasn't something I expected when I began my journey. Since losing over half my body weight I am feeling the cold SO much. To me, 65/70F maximums are just absolutely FREEZING! I have trouble getting warm at all. We have heaters in the house (reverse cycle air conditioning) and I really have to have the one on in the bedroom at night, but I feel bad about having the large one on too much during the rest of the day, so I just try to rug up well and snuggle in my dressing gown. I am hoping that after a few years, my body with aclimatize, but until then I will just struggle through. It is the early mornings that are the worst. I start off with about 5 layers, including thermal underclothes, and I intend to peel them off during the day, but on a couple of days they have all stayed on.

I am currently knitting two scarves. Another soft, fluffy one - this one is kinda beige, whereas the first one is pale mauve - and a 'feathery' red one. The red one is for this Friday, which is "Wear red for Women" day, which I think you guys had earlier in the year. I have wool ready for another really soft red one (hubby couldn't find this wool at the store he went to the other day, so got the 'feathery' kind, which is OK, but this stuff is MUCH nicer), a grey one and an aqua kinda coloured one. I intend to have enough scarves to go with ANYTHING, so at least my NECK will be warm, even if the rest of me isn't. I am also finding the knitting to be very therapeutic. People have been telling me to find something relaxing to do, and this is fine for the moment. I got a lovely pattern for a crocheted top the other day, but the pattern is going to take too much concentration for me at the moment, so it is still sitting there. Scarves are about all I am mentally up to for now. Just back and forth, back and forth. You know the kind of mindless stuff I'm talking about. I am working on the red one in the car when we go shopping, or just out and about.

We have a long weekend this weekend, so I am truly hoping to catch up on individual posts, at least a little, over the next couple of days. Other than simply being too cold to do much on the computer at all, I have had to do a few things for school this week, which have taken up what computer time I have had.

The cold is the only thing I can really think of for not posting much. I suppose the other reason could just be that I am too lazy, but I don't think that is the case. I am not in a 'funk' of any kind that I can work out, but I am still a little tired, which is not impressing me one little bit. I had my third B12 shot on Wednesday and I am really expecting some kind of amazing change to happen soon. Mind you, everyone at school is mentioning how tired they are, so maybe this is just normal. The cold weather doesn't help with that at all either I don't think.

This week is a short week for me. Monday off, then Friday at some professional development. Three days with the kids and I don't even think I am teaching at all, as my student teacher is taking over 100% of the program. I would normally be 'lost' when this happens, but I have to get mid-year reports written, so this will give me plenty of time for that. I'm going to have to get out of the room though, because I pay too much attention to what is going on if I am in the room, and I always have to have my 'two cents worth' during the lessons. I just love joining in. I'm worse than one of the kids.

I am going to quickly get a few individuals done, but then it is off to bed for me.

One thing I do have to say is... HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I kinda got the days mixed up, but I thought it was Saturday, and now I've seen on your tracker that it was the 2nd. Sorry I'm late, please forgive me. I hope you had a wonderful day and spent it with the people you love, doing exactly what you wanted to do.
I will keep my fingers crossed that you hear something positive about the Whirpool job. They are a big name over here too, so should be a reputable company to work for.
Oh, and I think that your latest pic for your avatar is simply adorable. Definitely one to be framed I think.

Ammi - I'm glad the weather has been so nice for you to get out and do the gardening. Hubby is currently in the process of pruning our many rose bushes. He is doing 8 a week, for 6 weeks, as we can't fit any more than that in the bin. He had done the second lot and things are looking neater already. I love the rose bushes, but they tend to get really messy when they start to drop their leaves. The garden looks a little stark for a few months, but at least we don't have mountains of leaves stacking up against the front door for a while.
I will get an email off to you soon. Thank you for being patient with me.

Sharon - Well done on the continued weight loss! Oh... and could you please package up some of your warmth and send it my way? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?...

Well, I will catch you all soon.

    Take care,

    Zelma
  • Ammi~ I have been keeping up with the posts. However, With Austin it is hard to write much down,,, I checked my weight this Morning and since my last weigh in, I have lost 7 lbs more.. So I decided to go ahead and report it.. I will adjust accordingly on Sunday.. Take Care of yourself.. There is a Rodeo here and I am gonna take the kids to it tonight then to a movie....
  • ***Warning this first paragraph may contain words that trigger food cravings!***

Hi guys!! Just a quickie post to say I'm alive! I haven't had time to read all these posts yet but I am looking forward to it soon. I am keeping up the good work. My family went to Olive Garden last night and I managed to be a very very good girl there. I avoided the Italian Margarita that my mother and I always get (One drink gets me sloshed I'm a total lightweight) and that's good because the main ingredient is amaretto. AND I avoided all breadsticks. That is a first. Today is my dad’s birthday and my mom went to the bakery and bought two boxes of donuts...doughnuts..I can’t spell I will just call them “D’oh! Nuts”. And now she is making a cake. I feel like I’ve gone into the trenches. I have my little carb bombs and a whole slew of mini carrots as bullets. It’s the battle of the budge, the battle of the sweet tasty cakes. I think I can win, or I will come out of the battle riddled with sugar and guilt. Well I think I can do it just cause I talked about it.

Well I lost some more weight this week. I am almost to my mini goal of 300 pounds! Only 4 pounds away!

I am so busy with work and my poetry assignment. I am also trying to become a grant-writer for hire. So much work to do!

OK I gotta go! Speak to you all again real soon!

    ~Dusty
  • Ammi - I'll let you know what I get. So far, I've gotten a check from my grandpa, and an adorable teddy bear from Andrew (a guy at work was selling them for a fundraiser, so he got me it). We're going today to get the rest of my gift.

    Sharon - on that -3!!!!

Zelma - Good to see you post...and sorry to hear you're so cold! You don't have that insulation to keep you warm anymore! Picking up a hobby is good. I started scrapbooking about six months ago, and I love it! Takes up time, and allows me to be creative! Not to mention, it's a Christmas gift in progress for Andrew.

Crock - Wow wow wow!!! 7 pounds this week! That's amazing! I think I've been having trouble, because I haven't been eating ENOUGH. Crazy to think, huh? LOL...my calories have been between 800-1,100 nearly everyday...I just DONT get hungry. You're halfway to your goal already!!! Wish I could say that! hehe...

Dusty - Congrats on avoiding that temptation last night! I've never been to Olive Garden, but once I lose my weight, I know Andrew & I want to go there...we've been wanting to, but there's only one around here, and they are ALWAYS packed. We wanted to go on our anniversary, but they were CLOSED...ugh! (Our anniversary is on Christmas eve...heh). Cake AND D'oh Nuts?!?! You've got your work cut OUT for you! Hope you make it out of the trenches alive! :P

I'll be heading out shortly to Andrew's house. We're going shopping, and then back here for a cookout, and some time in the pool! Hopefully, I'll be able to pop on tonight, but if I don't, I hope you girls have a GREAT day, and a great weekend! STAY OP!!!
  • Hi,

I am back now, all spent out, and hot and bothered So glad to be in the cool of my bedroom again

Guess what??? I had some photos developed today, and there was a full face photo of me that I took at the start of my diet and the one that I have for my Avatar. I can compare the two and SEE that I have lost weight I am thrilled. If I scan the two photos together I will post them on the picture page and you can see for yourselves if you can see a difference

Zelma - so great to see you post, I was starting to worry. I wish I could send you some of our heat, but at the same time, we don't get it often, so not sure if I could spare much My mum lost a lot of weight once and there were two things she hated about it, the saggy skin, and the fact that she was freezing all the time. When she gained all the weight back she used to have a little happy song about how she's got her fat to keep her warm! Well I know you don't want your fat back, so just keep on wearing those thermals and knitting those scarves

Sharon - I am sorry that Gareth is still poorly, I bet you would love to have been out in all this sunshine today. You are right to keep him indoors though. I felt positively ill myself after being in the sun too long yesterday, so I am sure with him being unwell already, too much sun would do Gareth no good.

Congrats on another 3 lbs lost that is brilliant. Can't wait to see you move your tracker slider down down down.

I am totally with you on the missing people thing, you can't help but wonder where they are can you?

Crock - WOWSER another 7 lbs gone. That is awesome. You worry about slowing down with the weight loss, but you are half way to goal already and with NO sign of slowing down. Amazing

Dusty - I love the way you word your posts, they are a pleasure to read. Kudos to you for planning on eating so healthily with all the tempting food around.

Well done on losing more weight and now only being 4 lbs from your first goal. Whoever suggested having mini goals rather than one long term goal definitely needs a medal. The feeling of being close to a goal and then achieving it is one of the best feelings in the world. We have a lot of mini goals to get through until we make our main goal, so that's a whole lot of times we are going to feel good!!!

Kayley - oh that teddy bear sounds cute, I love cuddly toys. I have a whole shelf of them!! I look forward to hearing what else you get.

Enjoy your cook out and swimming in the pool.

Time to go again now, so take care and in the words of the Terminator, 'I'll be back'

    Hugs,

    Ammi
  • Good Morning! I'm looking at my calendar, and one of my girls has a birthday party to go to at Chuck E Cheese. Ugh! I'm not too fond of their pizza, but pizza is pizza, and pizza is good, ya know? I'm hoping either my hubby will take her, or I can keep my mouth occupied chewing gum or talking with the other parents.

Ammi- I love the beam! My hubby doesn't know where anything actually *is* in Vegas, he just knows where it is in relation to the Luxor. heehee It's a good thing we only leave the hotel at night! The Lord's Table is a 60 day course that takes a biblical standpoint on food issues. I just started it, but it has given me a completely different view on weight loss.

Sharon- Congrats on the weight loss! I hope Gareth starts feeling better soon. It's hard to be nurse and do the things you wanna be doing!

Zelma- I hope you can enjoy the short week. I'd love to see some pictures of the scarves you have knitted- I looove looking at scarves!
Crock- Congrats on the weight loss! Have fun at the Rodeo!

Kaylee- I hope you have a great time, sounds like it'll be fun.

Dusty- I hear you on the D'oh! Nuts! My dad just took my kids for a walk and they came back with a huge box of them! WTG resisting the breadsticks at Olive Garden, that musta been difficult! And congrats on the weight loss
  • Kayley~ this was a two week loss... I wish 7 in one week.... THanks
  • LuxorBea - lol about your husband knowing where things are in Vegas in relation to the Luxor It definitely is a good place to start from. How often are you lucky enough to go to Vegas?

I clicked on your link for the Lords Table but it said I had to register or login to view the pages. It sounds like an interesting concept to dieting from what you said. It sure is working for you already with that great weight loss so far.

Just to let you all know, I put my face photos on the picture page, I would love some feedback on whether or not you all can see a change in my face like I can, or am I just imagining it?

    Hugs,

    Ammi
  • Just got back from my WW weigh in and my weekly grocery store trip. I am so pleased. I lost 3.8 pounds this week : putting me at a total of 19.6. I am just tickled pink. I am still focused on my mini-goal of making it to 25 pounds so I can get my magnet WW reward. I came as close as 24.8 back in February but kinda lost my mojo there for awhile. But I am definitely back on track. I was OP pretty much all week. My only slip was going to the movies yesterday and eating about 3/4's of a large popcorn. I had gone with an entirely different plan but I caved in. It was a great movie though..."The Breakup". I adore Vince Vaughn.

sharon - on losing 3 of those nasty pounds. I hope your Gareth is feeling better soon. Poor little guy and poor mom having to clean up after him. By the way, have I ever mentioned that the CEO of our company is named Gareth? He is from England. Must be a popular British name. I had never heard it before.

zelma - Glad to see you back out here again. Hope you warm up soon! I work with a lady who lost about 160 pounds via gastric bypass and she says the same thing you do. She just can't stay warm in the air conditioned office. Well, just stay bundled up and soon summer will be back for you and then you can run around happily while those of us still carrying some extra "insulation" are sweating our patooties off!

Crock - Way to go on another 7 pounds down. Your losing streak continues!!! Geat job!

Dusty - "D'oh! Nuts" Girl, that really cracked me up. I think there must be some sort of special reward for someone who can go to Olive Garden and pass up those breadsticks! You, my dear, have an iron will!

Ammi - I saw the pics you posted and I also can REALLY see a difference in your face. I know you are happy as a clam about that. Keep doing what you are doing!

Luxorbea - Good luck to you at Chuck E Cheese. I have never been there (don't have kids) but I know what you mean....pizza is pizza. Hang tough! You can do it!

Later chickadees! Hope you all have a great weekend.
  • I just got a d'oh! nut for my daughter- and the box is filled with the "weird" ones LOL Not a single chocolate bar or devil's food!!! Makes it much easier to stay away from

Ammi- I checked out your photos, and I can definately tell the difference! That's awesome WTG! The hubby & I try to get to Vegas once or twice a year, usually just for a few days (I can't stand being away from my kiddos too long)
  • Ammi... yah I sure can tell a big difference! You cheeks are thinner and there is a lot less of your chin! Nice going!
  • Xena - that is brilliant news about your 3.8 lb loss. You are definitely back on track and you will soon get your 25 lb lost WW magnet.

As for that popcorn you ate, I figure by the time you weigh again (officially) you won't even notice that you had it. Glad you enjoyed the film. I haven't heard of it, it will probably come to the UK at a later date.

Thank you for going to look at my photos, I am so happy that there is a noticeable loss and it's not only me that notices it

LuxorBea - what kind of weird flavours are in that D'oh! nut box?

I am so envious that you get to go to Vegas at least once a year. If I had the money I would go every year too, I would love to spend 3 weeks there from the last week of November. Bliss.

Thanks for looking at my photos, as I said to Xena I am so happy it's not just me that can see my face isn't so fat now

Misti - I HATE my double chin, and although I can see the difference in my cheeks, I am just so thrilled that my double chin is getting smaller Thanks for letting me know what you thought

Gotta go email now, I will try to write again once more before bed time.

    Hugs,

    Ammi
