Just a quick 'hello' from me, to let you all know that I am still around. Well, knowing me, this will end up like a 'novel', because I tend to talk too much. I just mean that it won't have many individuals yet. They will have to come later.
Thank you to those who have been missing me. I truly don't know why I haven't been posting as much as I should. I was thinking about it today and all I could come up with is that it is FREEZING here! I know that sounds really silly, but I have been just wanting to sit here, with my hands tucked up nice and warm and not typing, just reading. I have also been sitting on the couch knitting scarves. I made a beautiful amazingly soft one for our Triple B Day and I just wanted to wear it ALL day, even after it supposedly warmed up. It just felt so wonderful to finally feel warm. This wasn't something I expected when I began my journey. Since losing over half my body weight I am feeling the cold SO much. To me, 65/70F maximums are just absolutely FREEZING! I have trouble getting warm at all. We have heaters in the house (reverse cycle air conditioning) and I really have to have the one on in the bedroom at night, but I feel bad about having the large one on too much during the rest of the day, so I just try to rug up well and snuggle in my dressing gown. I am hoping that after a few years, my body with aclimatize, but until then I will just struggle through. It is the early mornings that are the worst. I start off with about 5 layers, including thermal underclothes, and I intend to peel them off during the day, but on a couple of days they have all stayed on.
I am currently knitting two scarves. Another soft, fluffy one - this one is kinda beige, whereas the first one is pale mauve - and a 'feathery' red one. The red one is for this Friday, which is "Wear red for Women" day, which I think you guys had earlier in the year. I have wool ready for another really soft red one (hubby couldn't find this wool at the store he went to the other day, so got the 'feathery' kind, which is OK, but this stuff is MUCH nicer), a grey one and an aqua kinda coloured one. I intend to have enough scarves to go with ANYTHING, so at least my NECK will be warm, even if the rest of me isn't. I am also finding the knitting to be very therapeutic. People have been telling me to find something relaxing to do, and this is fine for the moment. I got a lovely pattern for a crocheted top the other day, but the pattern is going to take too much concentration for me at the moment, so it is still sitting there. Scarves are about all I am mentally up to for now. Just back and forth, back and forth. You know the kind of mindless stuff I'm talking about. I am working on the red one in the car when we go shopping, or just out and about.
We have a long weekend this weekend, so I am truly hoping to catch up on individual posts, at least a little, over the next couple of days. Other than simply being too cold to do much on the computer at all, I have had to do a few things for school this week, which have taken up what computer time I have had.
The cold is the only thing I can really think of for not posting much. I suppose the other reason could just be that I am too lazy, but I don't think that is the case. I am not in a 'funk' of any kind that I can work out, but I am still a little tired, which is not impressing me one little bit. I had my third B12 shot on Wednesday and I am really expecting some kind of amazing change to happen soon. Mind you, everyone at school is mentioning how tired they are, so maybe this is just normal. The cold weather doesn't help with that at all either I don't think.
This week is a short week for me. Monday off, then Friday at some professional development. Three days with the kids and I don't even think I am teaching at all, as my student teacher is taking over 100% of the program. I would normally be 'lost' when this happens, but I have to get mid-year reports written, so this will give me plenty of time for that. I'm going to have to get out of the room though, because I pay too much attention to what is going on if I am in the room, and I always have to have my 'two cents worth' during the lessons. I just love joining in. I'm worse than one of the kids.
I am going to quickly get a few individuals done, but then it is off to bed for me.
One thing I do have to say is...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I kinda got the days mixed up, but I thought it was Saturday, and now I've seen on your tracker that it was the 2nd. Sorry I'm late, please forgive me. I hope you had a wonderful day and spent it with the people you love, doing exactly what you wanted to do.
I will keep my fingers crossed that you hear something positive about the Whirpool job. They are a big name over here too, so should be a reputable company to work for.
Oh, and I think that your latest pic for your avatar is simply adorable. Definitely one to be framed I think.
Ammi - I'm glad the weather has been so nice for you to get out and do the gardening. Hubby is currently in the process of pruning our many rose bushes. He is doing 8 a week, for 6 weeks, as we can't fit any more than that in the bin. He had done the second lot and things are looking neater already. I love the rose bushes, but they tend to get really messy when they start to drop their leaves. The garden looks a little stark for a few months, but at least we don't have mountains of leaves stacking up against the front door for a while.
I will get an email off to you soon. Thank you for being patient with me.
Sharon - Well done on the continued weight loss! Oh... and could you please package up some of your warmth and send it my way? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?...
Well, I will catch you all soon.
Take care,
Zelma
