Diets/exercises, etc...?

  • Hello ladies! What diet plans/exercises, or just change in lifestyle has worked the best for you at losing weight with PCOS/IR? I just recently have started cutting out bread...sandwich bread. I thought I would start with "baby steps" first. I've been working out every day for the past week. I have no intentions on getting on the scale. I'll do that only once a month. I started this new way of eatting just last week. And so far so good. I was just wanting to get some other ideas and to see what's working for you. Thanks in advanced!!
  • Exercise is one of the best things that you can do to help with the IR along with cutting out refined carbs. If only I could take my own advice

    Welcome to the board.
  • I've been following Atkin's ideas and way of life. I just wish I'd known about this about 15 years ago!! It's awesome for pcos and you'll notice many symptoms lessen very quickly after starting this way of life

good luck with whatever you decide!!

  • I can't seem to find anything to "stick" too. At first it was just baby steps, then I really tried, then totally FELL off the wagon! I don't know what is up. I think I need something quick and easy to follow. Esp. since I work nights.

I did really well while off on vacation. Did a lot of walking, etc. I think its work. lolllllllll. I know don't make excuses! *insert little army smiley here*

So anyways that is my scoop.

  • Exercise, exercise, exercise! If you are IR, you need more exercise than the average chick. Some studies show that carbs aren't as important as once thought (I'm going to find it and post it in the articles forum) but I'm not totally sure. The newest findings were pointing at low calories and more exercise. Of course, you know how new findings go. They'll find something again in a few months that will be totally different!
