I hope so!!!! ~ I've worked out twice today, and I have my period. My absence of energy comes during PMS in the form of a two hour nap. So I guess I'm lucky. And exercising during this time is supposed to helpful with the lackluster energy and cramps if you have them.
I'm looking that up, BTW, totally intrigued.
*edit* Here's what I found, though still looking:
The evidence is that women's bodies burn more calories between ovulation and menstruation. That's why sugary snacks look so good during this period. Don't starve yourself, but if you can resist the cravings for high-energy foods, your body will burn fat stores for energy. This suggests during PMS, we burn more calories. Don't you think ovulation has to burn a little bit more calories? It's probably only like 10 or 15 though!! But then the fallopian tubes have to push the egg through, that's got to be another 15
Something else I found :
Ovulation - Women can have a cyclic increase in RMR of 4-16% during ovulation.
Hee hee, I typed in "How many calories does ovulation burn?"
