??Used Clothing Shopping Online??

  • I'm sure those of you who have lost some weight know what I mean when I say "I don't know what size I wear any more!"
I find the idea of clothing shopping on ebay intriguing but ... I don't know about sizing. Any tips?
Does anyone have things we can compare? For instance, I have two pairs of pants that fit right now. If I lay them down with the zipper done up, just under the base of the zipper they are (santa barbara stretch denim low rise) 17 1/2 inches and (denver hayes carpenters) 19 inches. Do those correspond with anything you have?
  • I love ebay, but my biggest advice is to never rely on what size a piece of clothing is. Always look for items where the seller gives you measurements. Even with brand new clothes in the stores you won't always be the same size, it becomes a lot more difficult when you're dealing with clothing that's from seasons past.

If you see something that looks intriguing but they don't list measurements, email the seller. They will most likely answer you and post the response on the auction. Happy shopping!
  • I should maybe check down at the bottom of the auctions where some sellers post the questions that have been asked. Good tip, Tani thanks!
  • Yep. I sell my gently used clothes on ebay. You should just ask the seller for the measurements.
  • An idea for those of you who attend Curves. Ours has a "Drop your "Fat" pants here" box. And members are free to "borrow" anything from the box while they lose weight and need a smaller size. What goes in the box is donated to charity.
