Maybe it would help to remind yourself that, when all is said and done, Atkins IS a low-calorie diet. All diets (that work) are... there is just no way around the rules of biochemistry and physics.
The most important decision you need to make is which life-style: Atkins, calorie counting, or any of the others is one that you will be able to continue with for the rest of your life and maintain health and happiness.
Personally, I find that I have psychological "fat" and "thin" days all of the time. The "thin" days are great, the "fat" ones bite, but all of them are just in my head, and I don't let them sway my determination to see this through.
And, believe me, there are plenty of "super-thins" out there who have never been over-weight one day of their lives who have "fat" days, too.
