I AM SO EXCITED!!! I finally bought an elliptical!!!! It is put together... but it is very very tight, its like the highest setting and I cant turn it down. Gonna have to troubleshoot with it. But I did do 12 minutes on it at the crazy tight level and it felt great. I sure dont have the room for it in my teensy place, but its cheaper than a gym membership thats for sure, and I can do it any time of the day or night! I cant wait to see the results from it.
Anyone else have one? Love it?

I rented a treadmill but I hear everyone else using the Elliptical - I have used them before they are hard work! Maybe I will switch to renting that in a few months for a change! hehe Be sure to let me know how it works for you!

Hey SoTypical, How do you rent equipment? Is it expensive? It seems like it would be expensive over time... how do you transport it?

Oh Ive figured out whats wrong with it. I havent connected the tension setting wire correctly, and I have NO idea how to do it. There is no diagram, no written instructions. It just says "connect it". There is no clear way to do so... you can stick the pieces together in several different ways.
Does anyone have one and know what I am talking about? Or can describe how their tension wire connects?

I aso bought an elliptical yesterday but I didn't have to connect any tension wires so, unfortunately, I am not going to be of much help. I just wanted to stop by and say congratulations on your new toy!! I know I love mine and I hope you will get yours figured out so you can really enjoy it! Good luck.

oh my god, you just bought the best exercise machine ever-
the thing is, i don't think it's hard work- the elliptical is suppose to help you burn while being low intensity- i love the elliptical and can stay on it for 1 hr or more at 70 ish rpm. providing you don't overwork youself at like, 80 rpm, it should be fine!

PeeB - sorry I didnt post back sooner! As for renting there is a place in town that does it. Sure it is a bit pricey but - I was going to spend 2000$ on a treadmill but what happens if I didnt use it? So I rented first, at 50-60$ a month for an upfront payment of two months. They devlier and pick up (extra 20$). The longer you keep it the cheaper it gets. AND at the end you can buy it and 1/4 of what you paid in rental fees goes towards purchase price. Because I rented an older treadmill the purchase price is only 400$.

I am starting to think of getting an eliptical or bike instread... they burn more calories and dont make so much noise!

I really wanted this one that was US$1000, it was more like one in a gym, but i got the $187 one instead lol. I need to save for a house!! As long as i can get the dang tension connected it will be fine, but so far it isnt working out. I found a diagram online for a similar machine and my pieces arent long enough to fit like that ones. I would call the company but cant find info....

yeah you guys should tell me if you find some distributor that rents, i'd love to have an elliptical!

veggielover - I really had to look in the yellow pages and go the their websites. There was only one in town but it seems they rent to a wide range of places on the island (I live on an island) - the town I live has a population of 80,000 or so. So if you live in or near a larger town I would think they have someone that rents!

I have an elliptical and LOVE it! It's a cheap one from Walmart, but I'm not complaining! I don't use it very often really, but it sure saves me from being able to skip exercise on rainy days, cause I sure would...lol. Or on those days when we've been out and about and I don't get time to myself till after dark, like last night. I'm not brave enough to ride my bike at night...lol.

Watching tv while you exercise helps!

Jtjoray - I live in a basement suite of about 800 sq feet and I fit a treadmill in there. Of course we can no longer use our dinning room table as it has been pushing into a corner and we had to squeeze a few other things into corners, but I got it in there and I think Ellpiticals are smaller then treadmills.

I dont have any room either. It WAS in the middle of the living room, making it impossible to move from the front door into the house, from in/out of the bedroom or from the living room to the kitchen hahaha... now it is shoved between a desk and the coffeetable, so now you can only get to the couch from one direction - i dont care, i'd rather have my house look ridiculous than my body!
