The buffet...

  • I was at a buffet for lunch today. I don't normally do them, but it was part of a lunch/dinner show at a local theater.

Oh boy. All that food. I could take as much as I wanted. I'm so not used to that. At home, I cook just enough food for my meal, and there isn't any extra.

I had nothing to measure it with...didn't really know the carb/protein ratios of most of it. So, I guessed to the best of my ability and stayed within my food plan. I stayed abstinent by not putting trigger foods on my plate. I got back to my table, and my stress level went down because I wasn't surrounded by a sea of food anymore--I just had my plate. It felt great to not have to make the decision about going back for seconds.
  • Marny, anyone who can get through a buffet without binging has got will-power coming out of their ying-yang! You go, girl!!
  • Thanks Ellis. :-) It felt pretty good to watch other folks go back for seconds, and to be completely content to stay in my seat.
  • Marny,
You've got enough will power for all of us here today! At the point I'm at, I would have filled my plate and kept on filling
  • You guys are so great!

You know, I really don't feel like the will power is mine. I never had it before--so I really think that it's from God and working the steps.
