I talked to the lady that I'm contemplating asking to be my sponsor today after the meeting... she suggested I attend a "Big Book" reading on Thursday night.

I'm debating going, but not sure! (Since I don't have a "Big Book"... unless they're talking about a Stephen King Novel )

Do any of you wonderful people know what this meeting would be like?

The Big Book is the common name for the book "Alcoholics Anonymous." It's the foundation for the OA program. It's fantastic--it has so much information and so many personal stories of recovery from addiction. Of course, where ever you come across the word alcohol, you need to substitute food.

I think that you would get a lot out of it. They'll probably have copies for you to use during the meeting. You can also order one from amazon.com. I got mine used for super cheap. It's one of my literature tools.

The meeting will probably involve reading something from the book and then reflecting and discussing it.


And hey! Look at you! You talked to someone at the meeting! How far you've come! I'm proud of you.

I'm definately thinking I will go

I see my local library has a copy... perhaps I'll go check that out until I can get my own copy! (A few payday's down the road...)
