New to Wave 1, with questions

  • Hi all,
This is my Day 1 on Wave 1 and I have questions.

    1) Is anyone eating the Lean Cuisine Spa meals? I see from the book that it's okay.
    2) How many ounces of chicken breast do you eat for supper?
    3) I'm just wondering how many pounds have people lost after the first 10 days?????

Thanks for any help here. I've gotten lots of ideas reading all the recipes.

  • Hi Tina,

Welcome! I did Wave 1 way back in January and followed the 10-day meal plans exactly. I had the time to cook and wanted to try all the recipes. I have had one Lean Cuisine spa meal since then; really prefer my own cooking over prepared stuff.

Regarding ounces of chicken breast, I think I read somewhere that you should have 3-4 ounces, which is roughly the size of one breast half. I wouldn't worry too much as long as your plate is not over-filled and the proportions are correct.

I lose weight extremely slowly, so I was thrilled with the amount I dropped after 10 days. Just to put things in perspective, I've been at this since last September and have lost somewhere between 15-20 pounds total. I think I lost 3 or 4 pounds after Wave 1. Keep in mind that people who report large losses are probably seeing water weight loss. Depending on how much weight you have to lose and how you've been eating, you may or may not experience a large loss from Wave 1.

    Good luck!
  • Thanks for the information, Sherry.

I'm on Day 2 and loving it. I am finding that I have no energy today. Maybe that's from not eating any sugar and no fruit. I'm a major fruit eater. I can't wait for next Thursday to eat my strawberries.

Anyone else have the same energy problem? If so, how did you handle it?

  • Oops sorry. Missed your first post. Welcome to the forum.

I eat the LC meals from time to time. In fact I have the Chicken in peanut Sauce today. Yum

Chicken breasts - I eat around 4-5 ounces uncooked weight, most of the time.

How much you lose depends on a lot of factors: How heavy you are to start with, if you have been "dieting" recently, your age, your activity level, any medications.. etc. Don't compare you loss with anyone else because we need to all just do the best we can. it might be better or less than someone else's loss, but that's okay.

Your body is probably not happy right now with the new foods and is not knowing what to do. This too will pass and as crazy as it sounds, exercise WILL give you energy and it is not optional.
  • Thank you for the the .

This is my third day on Wave 1 and amazingly I feel a lot better!!!!!
I guess my body is deciding not to revolt.

I just returned from a vacation where I was active but also ate everything in sight. This Sonoma Diet is going to take off that weight, plus what I've been trying to lose.

  • I am just getting ready to start the Sonoma Diet. I got the book yesterday and I've made out a list of foods to eat. I think the hardest part for the 10 days is no fruit. I'm a major fruit eater...I did see where I can have no sugar Jello and I may try that for my lack of fruit. So can I have Lean Cuisines for dinner? I'm assuming that would be the meat and veggie ones out there?

    Thanks, Cyl
  • Hi Cyl---
I love this and think you will, too.
Giving up fruit has been hard for me. I'm on Day 4 of Wave 1. The sugar part has been easier than I thought.
During Wave 1, we are to refrain from all artificial sweetners, if possible. I haven't been able to do that! I've got to have sweetners on my cereal and morning hot tea.
    Just don't overdo, okay!
Lean Cuisine Spa meals are okay. (The pastas are all whole wheat.) I eat one every day for lunch.

Keep posting and we can do this together!
