Confession Time

  • I had put on here, that I am wearing a size 4 in jeans and capris. Well, this was true for the Levi's brand that I had bought. Last night, I went to Old Navy and bought some Capris size 4. They looked big enough on the hanger. When i got them home and tried them on, I zipped and snapped them with ease. When I looked in the mirror, I noticed they looked like I was poured into them. Returning them tomorrow, I think a 6 would be the more appropriate size. I won't buy anything else without trying them on. Didn't want to mislead anyone, was just so darn proud to ever see a 4. This may seem trivial but it was an eye-opener for me. BTW, DH thought they looked great that way but said " I always liked my women a little on the trashy side". He's a pig. LOL
  • Re: Hubby -- !

Different brands are sized differently. Don't feel like you have to impress anyone with a size number. Especially us here... we'll support you.
  • Hey, don't feel bad. The same thing has happened to me before. If manufacturers would just all use the same sizing they would keep making a liar out of me! I've got a pair of size 2 jeans that fit and a pair of 10's that are a little snug. Go figure.
  • Lilly -- Sounds like they aren't that tight, so keep them till they fit, make them your goal pants...or pant-o-meter...
  • for me.. as long as the button and zip with ease, then they fit. I like my jeans that way. As long as I dont have trouble sitting or breathing. Thats just me though.

I think that what Ilene suggests is a great idea!
  • Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to impress anyone. Just felt guilty and thought maybe I lied when asked about my true size. I think you girls are correct and I will keep them and since I still have some more to lose, maybe they will fit good when I'm done. Good luck to all.
